Check the VFB logo in the top article. It is not showing (at least to me).

This game is scheduled to be live on GolTV. As much as I want VFB to get a win sometime this year, it need not happen now. They had their chance this week already and decided to give Fuerth a gift instead. Let's hope they stay generous and don't show up to this game either.

To quote Thomas Strunz:
"Das Schönste an Stuttgart ist die Autobahn nach München"

3 points is all that matters against this pathetic team. Lets get the job done.

Robben will probably be rested for Bordeaux. LvG is considering starting Gomez because it's a special game for him.

FWIW...

There are rumors that Hleb has been suspended for this match for his dustup with the trainer following the last match. It's also been rumored that he was only fined. I've not been able to confirm either scenario as of yet...

.........................Butt..........................
.Lahm.......DVB............Babs............Braaf
.........................MVB..........................
........Ailtontop.................Schweini........
.......................Mueller........................
................Klose..........Gomez..............

I say sit Tymo as he is no RM. Rest Luca Toni, or replace Gomez at the half.
Klose starts as he is the current goalscorer at Bayern (freshly awarded last match. LOL!)
Ailtontop should play... I see no reason why he should not.

Subs:
Micho NEEDS to play this game, at least 45 minutes, as he WILL be playing against Bourdeaux. He was very very rusty and his passes looked poor against Frankfurt in the 2nd half. I wish he could come on for MVB at DM, but I think that is a cluster-fock in LvG's mind.

Luca Toni on for which ever forward is struggling.

It was also an important signal that following Markus Babbel's team talk, Aliaksandr Hleb apologised to his team mates for his behaviour following the cup exit in Fürth. "Alex was handed a hefty fine, which he accepted immediately. That puts an end to the issue," said Horst Heldt in conclusion.

Could very well be a tough match...

Which Bayern team shows up?

Stuttgart is in complete disarray....translation: their backs are up against the wall...

Will Bayern be looking ahead to Bordeaux with this seemingly being an 'easier' match?

This game has every potential to be a trap game for us if we don't show up with our A game.

I could care less tbh, if we it means we tie this match only to ensure we win next week, I would take it right now. Stuttgart is embarrassing right now and have had their chance to do an "upset" for 3 games in a row now, and they have failed miserably every game. We'll see what happens though.

We need to attack very early from the start, even though Stuttgart have been struggling in there last 3 games, they are more motivated than ever to make an upset happen against us.. As long as we keep attacking and getting back on defense we should be fine, since Stuttgart strikers have been really poor lately.. It wont be an easy game but I think we will take this game 2-1 ;)

Unfortunately, we're a team that mostly seems to play to its level of competition. And our confidence seems to be completely dependent upon an early goal.

If we can score early and get them back on their heels (much like Frankfurt Rd 2) then we should have an easy day of it. However, if we screw around like Frankfurt Rd 1 and struggle to break through to goal, it could be a very long afternoon.

The old adage of 'the longer we leave them in the game, the greater chance they have of winning it' definitely holds true. If we put the game away early, we can cruise. If we struggle in the first half as in so many recent performances, it could become a pick 'em.....

The thing that I feel will play in our favor is that Stuttgart will go after us looking to win. It is a proud bunch of players, playing in front of fans they have not won in front of in the last 5 home matches, and they have a desperate coach who is on his last legs. I don't see them sitting back playing for a draw and being excited about it. Their fans and board certainly wouldn't be and I don't think players or coach would be applauding themselves for it either. I'm expecting an open game with a lot of chances. Let's hope we bury ours.

This is one of those matches where you have to trust the coach's intuition on who to play as Bordeaux looms. Gomez may be motivated to show up his old club or he may have no extra edge to bury the hatchet in them. I think its hard to take Toni off just when he's getting a rhythm after his 1st goal and multiple starts in a row. Keep it going with him. Robben might need/want more match time or he might need/want to be rested for the more important Bordeaux match. I will say that Demichelis has to get some time and as a starter for Buyten. He's got to get in more than a half with Badstuder. If Robben doesn't start then I'd rather see Altintop than Tymo at RM. Schweini despite being poor as an LM will get that starting place and I think he still should. Pranjic as a sub. Braaf as LB, I really think he will turn it on there. He has shown signs of strong play in short bursts. He needs to stay healthy and get a bunch of LB starts in a row and he'll do well.

My guess:

.........................Butt..........................
Lahm.......Demi............Babs............Braaf
.........................MVB..........................
........Robben.................Schweini..........
.......................Mueller........................
................Klose..........Toni................

@ Marienburg: If Robben gets the start that your formation suggests, I think we will shift to being a 433 rather than a 41212.

-----------Mvb
---Mueller-------Schweini
---Robben------Klose
----------Toni

Robben doesnt have the defensive discipline required to play the right hand edge of the diamond.

Numerous reports have stated that Robben won't factor high in this match, but more likely will be rested for Bordeaux....not saying he won't get on, but won't be a key factor. Time will tell....
