Game's on tape delay on Setanta at 6:00 pm or on at 10:30 am eastern time on Setanta Extra. I will be watching it early. I haven't heard anything new on Pienaar, hope he will be back for this match. We really need a win here.

Injury list to shrink (http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/injury-list-to-shrink.html)
No info on who exactly might be healthy this weekend, and I haven't found anything about a line up yet.

I'm hoping it'll be Pienaar and Yobo but I have the feeling it'll be Anichebe and someone else.

Pienaar is a crucial one, we badly need his creativity in midfield, hopefully Billy will come back to

i'm going to go to the pub for this one... i haven't been in over a month! stupid messed up schedule and tape delays and stuff.
we're the underdogs in this one... at least in my eyes. I think with our form the past three games, our injuries etc, people just expect us to be bad... that might give us an edge. who knows.
COYB! :)

Well Setanta totally screwed me! They changed the schedule on Extra to the Currie cup, damn it to hell.

After last year's collapse vs Villa (it still makes me cringe thinking about it), I can handle a draw.

After the last 3 games I can handle a draw vs Villa. I didn't get to watch most of the game but from the highlights it doesn't look like we played bad at all.

One positive is that we were able to field a stronger squad for this game:
Everton: Howard ,Heitinga ,Yobo ,Baines ,Neill ,Distin ,Bilyaletdinov (sent off 87),Cahill ,Fellaini (Saha ,72 ) ,Rodwell ,Yakubu (Jo ,89)
Hopefully we can field a similar strength team vs Benfica this coming Thursday

i don't know that billy deserved a straight red (i dont' think it was a 2nd yellow) he def deserved yellow for a slightly late tackle and a slightly "trailing leg" (tho it was under his arse so.... a straight red was harsh. Their player who got red a min later was a 2nd yellow and both (from what I saw) were yellow card situations.
we seemed to attack and start finding a rhythm near the end... if we played that way all the time we'd be much better...
then again... i dont' think we've had the same back 4 line up in the past four games, so how the ******** do we expect to have a solid, well oiled defensive posture? :( hopefully with baines, billy, and yobo back, we can keep them healthy, and add more as they become available. saha was in as well - didn't he go out with an injury a game or so ago? -
there is a light at the end of the tunnel here for us, I just hope we reach it with time enough to climb up to 7th or above... and to stay in Europa and FA (or is it carling... which one did we just crash out of?) anyway...
COYB!! :)

Two footed studs up challenge that made contact with opposing player's ankle?
Yeah, automatic red. And if anyone doubts that, Evertonians would be screaming bloody murder if someone had done that to an Everton player and not seen red.
Not a bad result considering who we're playing and the squad we had to put out there.
On a brighter note, Liverpool are still in the title race...
...no, not really. :D

It looked to me like Bilya should have received a yellow card rather than a red.
Up to that point, the ref had been pretty lenient, and had failed to issue cautions on a couple of tackles that normally would have been carded.
The "color guy" "expert" TV announcer thought that Bilya didn't deserve a straight red, but should have been cautioned instead.
So there! TX Bill. :p

a 2 footed studs up tackle is a red, but from what I saw, it was one footed, his other leg was bent under himself. on top of that didn't he get the ball with his leading foot right before the other guy came in contact with billy and went down*? course my stream was crap so maybe i didn't see right. I'm not saying it was a good tackle, I actually told billy (cos you know he can hear through my computer ;)) that it was a stupid, lil bit reckless, thought "well there's another damn yellow". I just wasn't sure it was a super dangerous straight red seeing tackle...
and to agree with Rocket: from what I saw, the ref did let go quite a bit and then "BAM" red card... seemed a little off... ~shrug~ it is what it is. He'll have to learn to not do that again, that's all. :)
COYB!
*note: I am not saying he faked an injury here. it was a bit reckless and therefore dangerous.

Heh...see my commentary on Grand Old Team about those very announcers. In a word, they were horrible. Got every "opinion" wrong (i.e. Heitinga just fell wrong there when Heskey's elbow hit him the head. Billy's red, Cuellar's second yellow which was warranted and they felt it wasn't.)
But hey, Moyes is going to have one heck of a dilemma when everyone is healthy. And that's a good thing to have.

But how long will it be before he gets those players back?
I've seen yellows given for Billy's tackle which is why the fans were frustrated but the letter of the law states it was a dangerous tackle so we can't really complain. A three match ban comes at the worst time for us though.
A slightly better performance on Saturday though the team still isn't clicking. I think after the week we've had it was all about avoiding defeat. Another draw next week will do me fine and we can then use the international break to get our players back.
