Francisco Palencia could very well be the second Chivas USA player. :)

interesting!
So will he be sitting around for a full year doing nothing, or is there really going to be a Chivas USA side in MLS next season?

Ramon Ramirez is a done deal. He is not as good as he used to be but still provides flashes of brilliance now and then. The most important thing about Ramon is that he is a Chivas player by heart. He is currently being featured in the Coors Light ad's and promos for Chivas U.S tour. Francisco Palencia who can and will most likely be a more key player in Chivas USA has yet to accept the offer.

I can see why Palencia hasn't taken the deal he can still make more money in the MFL.

This is great. I deeply despise Ramon Ramirez. If you're a USA fan and you don't hate him, please allow me to remind you of how Ramirez kicked Alexi Lalas in the nads once, cut a picture of that moment out of a newspaper, and sent the photo to Lalas.
Then didn't Ramirez fall out of the Mexican soccer picture after getting injured in a car accident where the family in the other vehicle got killed?
I will go to games just to boo him. Good for MLS and good for the goat shaggers.

Ramirez is going to get his ass handed to him if he plays in the midfield in MLS.
No disrespect, but his best days have been over for a very long time, and playing in a much more physical MLS where you get even less time on the ball is going to age him even more. I'm thinking Galindo when he was on his last legs: gets the crowd excited but can't do crap on the field.
Palencia is more intriguing. I'd love seeing him play in MLS. I think he'd do well. Palencia v. Ruiz: that would be a matchup! :D

Palencia is nothing more then a hard working player. He won't dominate MLS by any stretch. Ruiz is a way better player than he is.

From today's SoccerAmerica Daily (originally from Mural):
"We spoke with [Francisco] Palencia and the idea is for him to go over there [to Chivas USA]. We're already putting the coaching staff together and the rest of the players will be Latinos who live there. It will be a Spanish-speaking Chivas, not a Mexican-only Chivas, because it's impossible, but it will be a Latin Chivas."
-- Chivas owner Jorge Vergara, indicating that the three senior foreigners on Chivas USA could be Francisco Palencia, 31, Ramon Ramirez, 35, and Miguel Sabah, 24. Palencia and Ramirez each represented Mexico at two World Cups. (Mural)

I'll be the first to admit that I am still not sold on the ChivasUSA idea, but I have to admit I am mildly excited about the prospect of going to see these three players. On second thought maybe I am sold, because I'm definitely planning to go to the first ChivasUSA-Crew match next year.
