View Full Version : What really bothers me most about Leeds...

I understand that we are in massive debt, yet it still always bothers me to see our players, and our best players at that, to be sold so cheaply. kewell for 2m, smith for 7, milner for 5. all these players, on other teams, would have transfer fees much higher than what we accepted.

seems like we're always getting cheated, in one way or another.

While true that they would fetch more money on another team, EVERYONE knows that Leeds have to sell... Everyone comes in with low offers because they know Leeds have to accept... And if Leeds don't accept then they get nothing, for example, Bowyer and Kewell both were prepared to play their last seasons without renogotiating or accepting a transfer... Leeds would of got nothing for either if we would of held out... I actually believe we got a steal for Smith, but I'm in the minority on that... And no one would of gave us more money for Milner then what Newcastle paid....

No time for the rant... Even with all this, the Leeds board are still idiots... I can accept alot, but the sale of Milner is just plain stupid unless they are sure that he won't amount to much of a player... Selling a player for 5 mill that broke Rooney's record, the 50 mill man, record for youngest scorer in the Premiership, who could possibly be the cornerstone of the club or at least another Rio transfer profit is just not good business...

would you have rather had kewell stay, and play last season, and maybe avoided relegation, or the 2m from his sale......

I'd rather of sold him... How well do you think he'd of played, or cared for what happens to Leeds?... IMHO we ended up having a bunch of players like that playing last season anyway... If you don't want to wear the shirt, you don't give maximum effort, even if your playing for a payday because in all reality you have a team lined up already for your services and why should you care if the team your leaving wins or not... :(

I would have rather kept Kewell for the 2 mil. I think the big reason we aren't staying up is because we were missing him.

Regarding Kewell guys -as a long term leeds fan i felt he acted like scum n i wish him a crap season, like his last 1 .Liverpool are welcome to him but lets face it too, very few boards would have been suckered like we were by his agent.
Remember he always had to go to Aussie matches now at liverpool seems he get away with it.he never showed up for the big matches on the pitch-hes a hot n cold pony seen in every 4th match goodbye n sod off kewell.
smith ill miss for the drive n fire but hes not the greatest striker
matteo ill miss too a big hearted n loyal player good luck dommo
milner will he be great who knows?? also he is lightweighty in the 1st division ,hed be injured most of the season. This ia a rough n tumble league guys gotta be able to kick n score your way out of it.

Nah, it's cool. It will be Coca-Cola Field, or Walmart Yard.
