For those of you that arent subscribers, check out sports illustrated this week. There is what I think is a great article comparing MLS to the NFL europe which is def. worth reading

I hope it says that it's an apples and oranges comparison.

I have not read it yet but I believe it is. It is the last part of SI's excellent four-part series on the Globalization of Sport. Hopefully my copy of the magazine is sitting in my mailbox.

Looks like Grant got his name on the cover!

Since Grant wrote this, at least MLS will get a fair shake.

I'm having trouble recalling consecutive issues without an MLS mention.

i wish you knobs would stop feckin promoting that filth rag SI. that top 100 minorities in sports thing was complete cr@p. It is really akin to listing the top 100 white C.E.O's. sport is one of the fairest jobs in life. either you're good enuff or not. yet, they managed to bring race into it; and, even more, ffs, they make a LIST out of it. Complete tits theyve got. I lost all respect for them after that 1997 article on race and sports.

They almost always list MLS in their weekly "What to Watch" column.

And Freddy Adu was #47 and the only soccer/person on the list.

Which is a sentence or two more than what pro bowling or the World's Strongest Man gets on a weekly basis and they get higher ratings on TV than MLS.

Sports Illustrated telling folks to watch MLS games is now considered a bad thing?
