I watched the rebroadcast of the England v. Portugal game on FSW the other night-it's the first England game I've been able to see in the tournament-and was wondering: what are the black armbands for on the England shirts?

They were worn in memory of Stephen Smith, English fan who was stabbed to death by a pickpocket in Lisboa night (2 nights perhaps) before the game.
