WOW! Italy's WC stunk. To change that, they should have:
1. Hired Capello instead of Trap
2. THis team:

Toldo
Maldini
Nesta
Cannavaro
Doni
Di Biagio
Tommasi
Zambrotta
Totti
Vieri
Montella
3. THey should have been more adventurous and tried to score more when in the lead.
4. Give more of the players playing time: DP, Toldo, Montella, and Gattuso complained about that. More probably thought about it.

Hindsight is 20/20. But yes, Trap has got to go. Itay screwed up big time by under estimating both Mexico and Korea, teams they should have had no trouble beating. Del Piero, should have seen more playing time, Totti less. Its also time to give up the old school tactics, everyone in the world knows exactly how Italy plays, and can easily adopt to it. The Azzuri that played Croatia is the one I'd like to see more of (minus of coarse the bad officiating.) There is nothing more stressful then watching Italy try to sit on a 1-0 lead for seventy or eighty minutes.

Italy was a great disappointment. They should have easily gotten through to the final. Italy has a great core of attacking players and they should have been used more aggressivey.
