Demichelis will be situated as CB, Argentina has taken advantage of scoring goals via free kicks. Against Norway they scored with a pass from Insua who was acting as a CAM to Maxi Rodriguez who may also make an appearance vs. Chile. M.Rodriguez is a dangerous player, quick on both wings, can move well towards the middle of the pitch when necessary and is a deadly finisher.

If Argentina chooses not to go with Riquelme as enganche, than Basile will need to find other players to fill the void, anyone who can mesh well with Messi, is a solid bet.

Interesting note, like the saying goes, changing players during a free kick or corner may potentially bring about a goal against you. As soon as Carew came off, Argentina blasted one in, taking advantage the disorganization changes may bring.

Do you think they'll go with Demichelis over Ayala? Well, not that it makes a difference... they're both world class in my opinion.

I really doubt Riquelme will play against Chile if he's not gonna play for Villarreal at all. Basile's tried to use Messi as an enganche... but honestly that'd be like us using Alexis as an enganche, it just hasn't worked so well. Of course Messi will be dangerous in any position he plays in but I think that if Basile puts him there we have a better chance of neutralizing him.

This leads to me a question: Will Bielsa use any special disposition against the likes of Messi or Tevez? Will la Roja pressure Argentina uniformly all around?

It's going to be an interesting battle between Bielsa and Basile. In regards to Ayala, he has resigned from playing for the national team.

Argentina's biggest weakness at the moment may be their defense. It cost them the final against Brazil in CA, regardless of whether Riquelme was shut down or not. Players like Demichelis and Burdisso will be necesary in filling the CB role left by Ayala.

This is a video regarding some comments made by el coco Basile over Bielsa and la Roja.

What Basile states seems to be true and something I was initially anticipating, and that's the element of surprise that Bielsa may implement.

Bielsa definetely knows what Basile is about, the guy studies other DT's like an accountant studies numbers on a spreadsheet. I'm sure Basile does the same, but Bielsa has been out of the picture for a couple years and el Coco only has these two latest friendlies to analyze.

It's interesting what Basile says because Bielsa always seems to play the same way: one true forward, 2 wings, one enganche, two laterales volantes and a line of 3 (or 4 depending the case) at the back. If I remember correctly this is how Argentina used to play (if I'm wrong please correct me) when Bielsa was in charge. So I really don't know... if anything Bielsa's style is rather predictable since everyone knows he'll play offensively no matter what.

It's a little hard for me to believe Basile. Of course I'm sure the players will be rather unknown to him but I'm pretty sure he'll know what to expect.
