View Full Version : Which two players do you not want to see

Which two players do you not want to see on a two on one break with the goal keeper 40 yards out of the goal? How about Stewart and Convey. If Stewart shoots, the ball will be 20 yards over the goal and if Convey shoots it will go wide. When I saw the breakaway on Saturday I just knew those two would f’it up.
I can’t think of two players that are worse at shooting on goal. The only other combination that might be as bad is Chris Albright and Ali Curtis. Anybody else got any suggestions on two more inept shooters than our two clowns? For two national players that was just pathetic finishing. Maybe the Bruce is correct and Convey should be playing in the back and Stewart on the bench.
Three points were ours to be taken on Saturday – thanks Convey – thanks Stewart

Albright's shot would be on target, but it would hit the post or the crossbar.

how about RDAv2.0 and Alavanja?
on this current team, convey/stewart are probably our worst finishers....

id like to see stewart as more of a defensive midfielder and convey on the bench or in europe...

It's too bad right now Chris Albright would be 3rd on United in points, and he's playing outside back.

Convenient how everyone forgets that Bobby played a perfectly weighted ball for Eski to score the goal. Without Bobby we would have lost - so stop your bitching about how he cost us three points - he gave us one.

Doug, you know he was shooting that ball too. The only difference was that on the goal someone was making a back post run.

Textbook cross, that's why Convey could play in England. Also, textbook choke, that's why he can't play in England.

Convey definitely is #1.
#2 for me would be Brian Carroll.

How about from the opposite point of view? Lets say your'e Troy Perkins. Who do you not want to see headed your way?
Aside from Big Mama Diallo, I'd go with Ante Razov and Damani Ralph. Or Landon Donovan and Brian Ching.

Awesome! Another Convey bashing thread. We don't have enough of these ...
Anyone else interested in a moratorium on these threads? Isn't there anything else worth talking about? Isn't this horse dead?

Maybe if he started hitting virtually empty net shots from 10 yards out then people wouldn't have as many reasons to start them.

Maybe there would be if Nowak would play Stokes again.

I'd love a moratorium on those threads too. Seriously, don't we have anything else to talk about? I'm really tired of Convey this, Stokes that ... oh, and Stewart this and that. You'd think these were the only three guys on the team!
... sigh ...

There is only one player I have no interest in seeing barreling down alone on goal:
Troy F***** Perkins!
Because if he is on a break away, who is minding DC's goal? Other than that, I would be more than happy to see any DC United field player (Rimando & Warren are right out) alone on goal. Regardless of past history, every 1v1 with the keeper has a better chance of becoming a goal than a lack of 1v1s...

Totally agree! However, if Ernie is on the pitch, he could cover the goal for a bit im sure. *wink*
