Maybe I missed it, but when will we find out who Manchester United plays in the Preliminary round of the Champions League?

The draw isn't known yet, but here's a list of teams we may come up against in our quailifying stage (the final qualifier stage):
ESP--RC Deportivo La Coruña
ESP--Real Madrid CF
ITA--Juventus FC
ITA--FC Internazionale
ENG--Manchester United FC
ENG--Liverpool FC
GER--Bayer 04 Leverkusen
FRA--AS Monaco FC
GRE--FC PAOK
POR--SL Benfica
HOL--PSV Eindhoven
SCO--Rangers FC
BEL--RSC Anderlecht
CZE--FC Baník Ostrava
SUI--FC Basel 1893
UKR--FC Dynamo Kyiv
ISR--Maccabi Haifa FC
AUT--Grazer AK
I believe that UEFA uses a coefficient system to do the draws, so I don't think we need to worry about coming up against Real Madrid or Juventus in that stage. ;)

Not even close.
Manchester United will be a seeded team for the 3rd Qualifying Round Draw, to be held on July 30, and most of those teams on your list will also be seeded, meaning there is no chance of playing them.
Here's a list of teams that could potentially be opponents for the 3rd Round:
Benfica, Basel, Grazer AK, Maccabi Haifa, Banik Ostrava, Wisla Krakow, Red Star Belgrade, Shaktar Donetsk, FC Copenhagen, Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Ferencvaros, Dinamo Bucaresti, Hajduk Split, Trabzonspor, CSKA Moscow, Djurgardens, Young Boys, Lokomotiv Plovdiv, APOEL Nicosia, MSK Zilina, etc etc etc. There's more potential opponents, but they're mostly obscure Eastern European teams. Some of the teams listed above will be eliminated in the second round, though I think UEFA is going to hold the 3rd round draw before the 2nd round is completed. Odds are, when the draw is actually held, it'll say something like "Man U vs Hajduk Split/Skonto Riga", though there are a few possible opponents that qualify directly for the 3rd round (the first 5 teams I listed). And before anyone asks, Young Boys is the name of a team from Switzerland.

Well in that case here's a full list of the teams playing in qualifiers.
http://www.uefa.com/competitions/UCL/news/Kind=1/newsId=183047.html
And there is a link on the UEFA front page that lists the draw for the 1st and 2nd qualifying round.

I believe we had to play a qualifier in 1999 and won something called the Treble. Oh yeah you wouldn't know about that, would you? :D :D

We have much respect for Red Star Belgrade. The two clubs are forever inexorably linked. There's even a Manchester United memorebilia store around the corner from Old Trafford called Red Star Sports in their honour.

Sorry, I was just making what I thought was a not so obscure Billy Bragg reference. :D

"Chortle" away there, Matt. Then think of Arsenal's European successes in recent years.

Why billy, you're forgetting their massive victory over Segunda División newcomers Celta Vigo. ;)

Nice one. I'm always looking for that stuff and uefa.com does a horrible job of making it easy to find. Thanks.
