Over the past 3 editions of FIFA that I bought I noticed they have leagues included for Belgium, Norway, Sweden, and other countries that don't really have top tier leagues. I know MLS is included to please the USA and Canadian gamers because they are a large part of the market but how come the Argentine and Mexican leagues aren't included?? They have usually about 2 or 3 teams from the league and that is it, I would really like to play in those leagues as well as have the option to play in Estadio Azteca or La Bombanera. I remember for a long time the Dutch league wasn't included and I can't remember if it is in 2004 or not (the big clubs were always there though). If anyone knows why the Mexican and Argentien, hey even Brazilian leagues aren't inlcude could you let me know???

As far as the Argentine, Brasilian and Mexican leagues go, the easy guess is that there may not be as large a market in the gaming community for those leagues. I don't know for sure whether that's true or not. I think the KNVB (Dutch football) wants more money for its licensing than either Konami or EA Sports is willing to pay. That's the story I've heard over the years, and it would explain why some Dutch players real names are in WE7 while others are not. One day these guys will realize that it doesn't hurt anyone at all to have every player's name and likeness in a damn videogame, but I won't hold my breath. Greed appears to be the order of the day.

Something else to consider- when a game company says "North American release", you can bet they mean the USA. That's their target, and everything else is icing on the cake. I'd like to see more of this hemisphere represented in football games, period. But so long as USA gamers and USA football fans in general send the message -on message boards like this one, and offline in sporting goods stores, in their televised game preferences, you name it- that only MLS and European leagues matter, that's all the industry will offer.

I'm just sayin'.

Have you tried emailing EA Sports with any questions?

I will, I just think being able to go through the Mexican, Argentine, Brazilian would be fun as wel as being able to chose Estadio Azteca or La Bombanera.

I have sent numerous letters to EA sports or Big concerning games they could improve on. I haven't recieve any feedback. But I don't really expect someone to write back to me a personal letter. Anyway they should at least send an acknowledgment letter.

I was feeling the sameway when I found out that Boca Juniors and River Plate are in the "Rest of the World" category in Fifa 2004. I hated this and I really enjoy both the Argentine and Brasil league.

My question is how can you make a video game and not have the J-League? Other than Americans, who plays more video games than the Japanese?

They may have their own version of FIFA. I know they've always had their own version of WE/PES.

On the J-League front... I bought the Korean version of FIFA 2003 and it had the Korean league in it. I doubt that the European releases had that programmed in (though I might be wrong).

I'd imagine that a similar Japanese version of the game with the J-league exists.

In America it has K/J-League and has for a while.
