Queiroz is back and that was the main reason we lost Queresma in the first place. He's disgruntled at Barca and by the way he's making noise he'll be out on his a$s soon anyways. Hes young, Portuguese(assuming he and Ronaldo get on it would be great for them to have each others company) and he will be something special if someone teaches him how to cross (Queiroz) whatdo you guys think? And how much would it cost to prise him from Barca?

Well, only if he were to come very cheap... lets say... 4 million or so... because we have prospects at our club and there is better talent out there... Quaresma really puzzles me... a winger that cant cross? also... he is almost strictly right footed... if we were gonna get a RW i would hope that he could at least be kinda comfortable on his left so he could switch with Ronaldo from time to time when they both play...

what do you mean lost?
His attitude seems to be the opposite of ronaldo and would it be wise as he could be a bad influence on the flipside quaresma could get acquire a decent attitude. I saw a porto rumor somewhere but a loan would be a smart idea but maybe too smart

We will be keeping RQ20, in order to sell him later, thank you. He will make the conversion to striker, since he cannot cross and likes dribbling into the box as a preference anyway...
FA rules permit only 1 Portugese player under the age of 25 per club anyway..:D

quaresma is a horrible crosser and a good dribbler ,what do you do with someone like that ,put him to strike the only answer.

What would u know about crossing? No one on your team can get on the end of them (not in the air anyway) :)
now, Chris... how do u expect to turn Quaresma into a striker??? You already have Saviola... also, Quaresma is greedy too, so its not like he can be a withdrawn striker... they usually are very unselfish and defer to the striker...

Then you know that we have had 2 strikers in recent times Yorke before, and John currently who are superb at getting on the end of crosses... and that we also have Dennis Lawrence 6'7'' and Marvin "Dog" Andrews who is a beast in the air (defender). I think the T&T team is more formidable in the air than England when they start Rooney and Owen (of course no one on our team can cross, but still... )

I say you guys should pick him up!! Let's just say when Ronaldo and Quaresma were playing at the same time ...you didn't notice Ronaldo was there!! In the superliga Quaresma was Sporting's player!! I think the lack of confidence they showed in Barca brought him down. But when Quaresma plays with confidence he can be the best player on the field... I don't know if you guys remember the Champions world tour. But he was Barca's best player... at the time he was even playing better then Ronaldinho.
I also find Quaresma's dribbles are more original then Ronaldo and he happens to make more of an impact in a game... I've been watching both these guys very closly... the Quaresma at Barca is not the same guy. He needs a different coach who actually shows some kind of confidence in him.

I remember the exact phrase Motterman used to describe Quaresma in comparison to Ronaldo. He called him a "confused turtle."
I think that description pretty much stands. I remember Quaresma for Barca. He was a player I'd want on my team. He had good control of the ball.
But the ball did not stick to his foot like glue, as Ronaldo can manage. Nor did his body have the same kind of elegant grace as Ronaldo.
Ronaldo has some problems - but in terms of dribbling, Quaresma is not his equal.

From his time at Barca it is very hard to put a proper evaluation on him but, everytime the Portuguese talk about him they say he is displaying a tiny % of his true ability and that at Lisbon he was the go to man and not Ronaldo. I dunno, it could jst be that Ronaldo is thriving and is being given the playng time to develop, it could be a lack of confidence on Quaresma's part, it could even be an incompatiblity with the league(doubtful) all I'm saying is look at Jon Dahl Tommasson and his Newcastle days and compare him to now!
Who knows how the caterpillar will turn out? I think he's worth the gamble - as long as he and Ronaldo are actually friends it could do them both the world of good to be reunited especially under a coach like Quieroz.

Ronaldo was also younger. Ronaldo was, at least when the purchase was made, talked about as the bigger prospect, but far less developed, and therefore... more risky.
It looks like, of the two big sporting prospects, we struck gold. We went for the high risk/high reward one... and he turned out as we hoped. Quaresma has looked worse than anybody expected.
I have little doubt he might still turn out to be a good player. I just don't think he was blessed with the same remarkable ability with the ball as Ronaldo. As I said, I'm mainly going by reputation here - at the time of the transfers last summer.

i think the main issue is whether he would be able to develop into a good player, if he were to move to united. i think maybe, maybe not. if people are saying that he was the big thing at sporting blah blah blah, then all of a sudden he cant just lose the ablility to cross. i think its more down to confidence, and i feel under querioz he could rediscover the play he showed at sporting.

hahahaha Ronaldo has better ability with the ball??? ok lets count the Ronaldo moves... he has the step over... the he has the move where he runs forward and then kicks the ball behind his leg. I've been watching Ronaldo all season that is the usual moves.Quaresma on the other hand has some dribble that can't even be explained I have tapes of when he played for the U-21 portugal squad vs France and Macedonia that he made the opponents look ridicoulous. And I never noticed that he wasn't that bad at crossing until he went to Barca. Oh and about the whole age difference. Quaresma is 20 and Ronaldo is 19 so there isn't much to argue there.

the age difference is around 18 months and in your comment on the champions world tour you didnt seem to mention his game against fortune and his reaction then. You could have a point if quaresma was the one who went to a country he knew hardly anything about, the style of play wasnt exactly suited to him and he didnt speak the language but quaremsa went to barca.
Counting the number of moves they show is pointless especially in the light that ronaldo has been told to be more direct and that oshea has come out and said he has another dozen tricks that he does in training
ferguson has never to my knowledge mentioned quaresma and quoted queiroz as saying ronaldo was the player to get.
the jon dahl tomasson comparison dosent quite work as he went to a lesser league and matured and improved himself there while the discussion here is whether utd not ajax or porto should pursure quaresma
