I saw the post article on the recent transactions where it mentioned perkins works at a sporting goods store. Anyone know where???
I thought it would be a cool idea if a bunch of united supporters were able to go pay a visit to him before he gets a full contract and buy a crapload of stuff from him, since he probably works on commission.
Probably a bad idea....just putting it out there

I doubt that he works there during the season.
And yes, that is a bad idea. ;)

I thought I read he worked at the Galyans at Fair Lakes.

The article specifically said he did. When you're making $850/month you don't really have time to take off.
And chayes, the article I saw said Galyans, but wasn't specific as to whether it was the Fair Lakes or sh!thole Maryland location.

FWIW I somehow remember seeing or hearing that it was the Fair Lakes location. Im sure it would not be THAT difficult to find out if someone REALLY wanted to know.
Hopefully for him he really will be able to ditch that job though, as I think hes really earned any raise he gets.

I just bought new kicks yesterday at the Galyans in Gaithersburg. That store rocks.

Perkins currently puts in about 20-30 hours a week working at Gaylans. All I know it that he works at a store in Va. Not from that area, so if there's more that one couldn't tell you. I do know that Comcast (your local channel) showed up at Gaylan's one night and did an interview with him.

You have a very appropriate screen name. ;)
As long folks don't cause a scene and get the guy fired BEFORE he gets a better contract!

Fixed your post :)
I believe Maryland's side won the fight already...Southerners have such convenient memories.

Uh, last time I checked, Maryland, was and is South of the Mason-Dixon line (which seperated slave-holding from non-slave holding states). Maryland was not a "Union" state during the Civil War. It was a decidedly pro-Southern state that was held in the Union illegally, by force. Her governor was under house arrest and those members of the legislature who would have voted to secede - a majority - were jailed. Additionally, the occupying Federal forces had their guns trained on the city of Baltimore, from atop Federal Hill. Additionally, there were Maryland regiments fighting on both sides... as one would expect with any border state. All that said, MD still sucks. :)

DC is the capital of the North. The state boardering the Northern capital on the Northern side is part of the North.

I was commenting on his assertation that "Maryland's side won the fight already...Southerners have such convenient memories.", when, in fact that is wholly incorrect, especially considering there were more than 8 Maryland regiments fighting for the "South"
There was and is no capitol of the "North," there was a "Union", (which included states like Californian, Kansas and Kentucky - all decidely not Northern), of which DC was the capitol, which happened to be geographically located in the South.
In the presidential election preceding the war, Maryland's votes were almost identical to those of the other states of the upper South. Moreover, the full legislature's last resolution with regard to the issue of secession was to "cast her lot with that of her sister state of Virginia." In sum, Maryland was, is, and will always be a Southern State, despite the best efforts of the revisionist Yankees who seek now, as then, to occupy her.
This topic has nothing to do with DC United, but, incorrect assertations are incorrect assertations. In any case, all United fans, including Marylanders and Virginians, are my family.
