Birmingham City have released Paul Furlong from his contract by mutual consent.
The former Chelsea striker has been playing on-loan with QPR and is now free to negotiate with interested clubs.
Now 33, Furlong had six years at St Andrews, scoring 56 goals in 156 games.

jeez, i followed the original link, and saw a pic of steve bruce.....has he aged 4,000 years since retirement??? yikes!!!

I'd say it's definitely a good signing for this year. I see they've signed him through the end of 03-04. It'll be interesting to see if he's in the mix up top for that long, but if the price was right, it seems a good signing.
That is, of course, assuming he can stay healthy. That's something he hasn't done for awhile, though. Let's hope his absence from tonight's match isn't the first of many streaks where he is unavailable for selection.
