Following our match with Man City he was quoted as saying:

'I've decided not to celebrate my goals out of respect to West Ham. They were my first club in England and, in my heart, part of me will always be a Hammer.

'The professional part of me was really pleased with my first City goals at home but, personally, I would have preferred to beat another club.

'In the derby against United I had also decided not to celebrate our goals but, after the bad treatment I received from the supporters that day, I have changed my stance on that.

'If I score in the next derby then I am sure that I will celebrate.'
West Ham's defeat left them with only one win and four points from seven games. Beset by financial problems as well, it is clear that Tevez's first English club face an uphill battle this season.

'All I hope now is that West Ham improve and don't suffer all season.
'Their fans were always with me, even in the bad moments. When I was there some other players left the club in the January but I didn't want to say goodbye.

'So I stayed there and I like to think that my goals helped them to stay up. It was a very emotional time and I think the supporters were always satisfied with what I did. I hope I've not damaged them too much now with my two goals.'

I read the article this morning in my paper and it certainly cheered me up. The "part of me will always be a Hammer" comment comes across as entirely genuine and heartfelt, as opposed to some of the badge-kissing poseurs you see in the Prem. I'm also looking forward to him celebrating when he scores against Man Ure, although I'm certain it won't be quite as controversial as Mr. Adebayor's efforts.:D

Carlos Tevez, you will always be an absolute legend among us Hammers, class act indeed.

So how about coming back to bail us out again? ;)

Whilst Tevez is undoubtedly in it for the money; and who wouldn't be, he does maitain a certain dignity.

He is also one of those people that love to be loved. A bit like most musicians, in that sense. :)
