What made me laugh most about that site was the map of the british isles it flashes up every now and again:

Scotland = Haggis and Scotch Eggs
Ireland = Guiness and Fighting
Wales = Sheep and Dirt

Yikes - I had no idea! Sorry for the delay in posting the acceptance speech - been moving house, watching football and winding up various French and Portugese posters :D

Now, onto the speech....

Unaccustomed as I am to receiving such recognition (let alone without we having to rig the damn vote in my favour), I must say it's been fun butting heads with you guys over the last season. I'm an argumentative sod at heart - proof provided via my ability to even drag the mild-mannered Coach into exchanging insults (still not sure how I managed this - Coach is so chilled I'd swear he's got an intravenous drip pumping top-class Dutch weed into his system 24 hours a day ;)).

I shall be looking forward to bursting a few more preconceptions next season - hopefully with the support of my team actually giving you guys a contest in the league! There's a good bunch of guys on this board - most able to see beyond the rose-tinted spectacles that seem to afflict all of us whenever talking about our teams - and I'm sure we'll have lots to talk about next year when Arsenal and Man U continue their attempts to kick each other off the pitch whenever they meet. I'll be the annoying b@stard popping in now and again to stir things up into an enjoyable civil war.

In the words of the great thespian Vinnie Jones at the end of "Lock, Stock.."

It's been emotional.

ps - Coach, I lost that list of names you advised me to bribe when this poll started - can you re-send so I can get the cheques in the post?
