This is something I never could figure out when it come to soccer.

When a team loans a player to another how does this work?

Does the original team still pay the players salary as he plays for another team?

Does the team that is recieving the player have to pay a fee to get him?

Why would you give a player to another team for free when that player could possibly become better and win with another team?

If a player all of a sudden becomes a great player during his loan period can the original team just say they want him back and take him?

Basically the players registration is transferred temporarilly to the other side, he is still "owned" by the one club but for all intents and purposes is a player of the club he is loaned to.
Salary and fees are generally unique to each deal - the bigger players will probably have their wages paid by the new club, but younger players who are loaned out for experience to smaller clubs will more often than not have part or all of the salary paid by the original club.
Players are loaned generally either to gain experience and so become better players for their club or to save wages if they are not going to play very often.
Most deals have clauses - season long loans generally cannot be recalled, but shorter loans as are common for lower division English clubs will allow for a player to be recalled, although it is usually only in the case of injury meaning they are needed again at their original club.

THX for clearing that up for me. For years I was always confused about this and the fact that when a player is loaned the other team doesn't have to give them a player in return.
