Lets have no more live tv matches in the afternoon. Have non live tv matches whenever but those matches that are live on tv should ko at 7.45pm or 8pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Does any one enjoy watching matches in the afternoon? Because i much prefer evening matches like they have in the CL.

I also think they should make the goals bigger.

Sunderland vs Portsmouth, or the return fixture at 8pm on a Sunday would be fun. You just know it'd somehow find itself moved to that time if it was possible.

Think of the supporters who actually go. I'm only armchair now the vast majority of the time, but those who attend have to come first.

Yes. Loads of people. The ones that actually go to matches for a start.

So the police would have to cope with both the match crowd and the Saturday night drinkers? Given the proximity of St James Park to the Newcastle watering holes, I'm sure Northumbria Police would love to have a 19:45 kick off on a Saturday night.

Would make it really hard for travelling supporters to get home after the game. As it is, with the railroad system as good as it is, you can get home from just about anywhere in 4 or 5 hours.

or then again, let's go to the other extreme and have no live games at all, except the cup finals.
the armchair fans would have to either get off their asses to watch football or put up with highlights. at least that way, over time, the smaller local clubs might get some of their crowds back and the sport would balance itself out a bit more evenly.

**yes, people supporting their local club, no matter what league.....very controversial, i know**

Radical thought, set your Sky+ or VCR or whatever, sorted.

Yeah, that's me today. I'm trying to get out of work in time for the Arsenal match on Sky. If I don't make it in time I'll be driving back home shouting lalalalalalalala to myself.:o

I'm happy with the way things are, to be honest. Infact, I'd like to see more games on at 3pm on Saturdays, as it used to be.

Apart from derby's, where security is tight and kick offs have to be earlier than usual, I cannot see why we have to have games spread so liberally all across the weekend. It is, of course, the TV companies who want this arrangement and I say if it aint broke, do not fix it.

On the flip side, I like the idea of football on a Sunday because not only does it provide a cracking han gover cure, it gives me something good to do, and a cracking excuse for getting out of cringe-wrothy family dinners, meals with the "in-laws" and other "girlie stuff" which alwas seems to crop up on the sabbath day. Example:

Mother / significant other: "Are you doing anything today, sweety? I was thinking we could go for a walk/come to dinner with my mum and dad/meet your 4th cousin removed twice?"

Your good self: "Sorry love/mum, Blackburn are playing Wigan. Big game, gotta go. Be back about 6. Bye!!!"

*sound of door slamming and furious running down the road.

Who says SKY have only provided money to football................ :D
