It was strange and seemed forced, especially as right afterwards he stood back up straight and took the penalty, can only assume it was to clear his nerves. Kids in schools across the country will now all be doing that before taking a penalty :)

Was it shown on the ITV broadcast? Was it when he bent down while in position to take the penalty kick? Was that what it was?

I saw it. He was sick twice. On the second vomit he produced quite alot of liquid/solid.

I think it was a combination of stress and fatigue that made him do it. Still took a flawless penalty though. Well done Zidane!!

Looking at that it seems he was just to the left of the goal when he barfed (Vassell is in the background and he stood on the edge of the D when Zidane took the penalty). If James saw him theres no way he`s going to dive to his right, so ZZ probably did it deliberately. If he`d taken a drink seconds before it was probaby just Lucozade anyway. It could be a good trick to use, barf on one side of the goal mouth and put the penalty right over it, sure that the keeper won`t want to roll in it.
