I see Birmingham picked up Jesper Gronkjaer today. That is a terrific move by them. I think it going to help the club immensely. Are Birmingham fans with this signing?

Are you sure this is a done deal? The commentator during yesterday's Sweden versus Denmark match said that Gronkjaer was claiming not to know anything about it.

My apologies. I thought the deal was done with Gronkjaer. I guess the clubs agreed to terms but Gronkjaer and Charlton did not agree. I did read this morning that Atletico Madrid has also worked a deal out with Chelsea for Gronkjaer. I guess it is not up to Gronkjaer to decide whether he will play in England or Spain. I hope he picks England. I would venture to guess a decision will come soon after the Danes get bounced from the Euros.

Gronkjaer said he wants to move to Spain. Gravesen (his fellow Dane) is almost a lock for Atletico as well.

Emile Heskey a good buy?
What are u on crack-cocaine.
Heskey is without doubt the worst player in England.......
Stern John, Mikael Forssell and Clinton Morrison.
Add a good forward and u got punch, add Heskey and u got crap.

I think you can forget all about Grønkjær... Both he and his agent say that it is his dream to play in the Spanish league... and Sevilla have now almost made a deal with him... according to Onside.dk :
The Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has no doubts that Jesper Grønkjær will play for Sevilla next season.
"We just need to sign the contract, everything else is in place" he says.
According to del Nido, we can forget all about Grønkjær going to Birmingham...
"We finished the negotiations with Chelsea last week and we also agree on all the details with Grønkjær's agent. Now we draw up the contract, and when Jesper return from holiday, he will sign" says del Nido.

That sucks. I was hoping he would join Birmingham. He is a good player that would have helped out. Either way, I still think Birmingham will be pretty good.

How can anyone not like Heskey? I mean, even though he scores premiership goals as often as I do, he gives the ball away with world-class style. And Gronkjaer, well, he can cross the ball sometimes...

So, is the Gronkjaer to Birmingham deal still on? I read that his move to Sevilla is off.

Yes, Gronkjaer signed with Birmingham because he was not able to convince his family to move to Spain ... He delayed the negotiations with Sevilla several times, so that they in the end got tired of it and finally gave up on him..

I second this sentiment. I like Bruce, he's done a right bang up job for Blues, but Heskey is a bad buy, especially given the pile of lettuce paid for him. I know Bruce is thinking he needs a striker with a big presence, good in the air and all that rot--but what Blues need more is a striker who can consistently put the ball at the back of the net. For six million of the slippery stuff, I can think of a lot of strikers I'd rather have seen him buy.

Not sure what you're talking about. At Chelsea he could beat anyone in a foot race but couldn't cross the ball. At B'ham, he could beat anyone in a foot race but got one good cross in for every 10 bad ones. At Atletico, he will probably become a genuine track superstar and give up crossing the football altogether.
