I was at that game in 1975 - the night that I became a soccer fan after a gestation period of several years during which I was exposed to the game quite a bit, but was not much of a spectator.

We encountered the heaviest traffic jam getting off Randall's Island and we had to wait in a standstill for 2 to 3 hours to get off the island and go home.

Pele was not the only one I was impressed with. I am Brazilian on my mother's side (I had a Greek father and was born and raised here in the U.S.)and this game had special meaning to me because of that. Other Cosmos like Manoel Maria and Mordechai Shpigler did well in the game too. Julio Correa was a great workhorse out on the wing. Alfredo Lamas was the worst on field for the Cosmos as he was always coughing up the ball. The game program had a full page black and white photo of John Kerr Sr. I discovered who Mark Liveric was. Me, my brother, our cousin, and a friend we had at the time around our age who came to the match with us called him (affectionately) "Liverwurst".

It was a grand time. It was the first of many times I went to see the Cosmos and was my springboard to being a soccer fan and journalist. And it is the reason why I am posting here today. Thank you Cosmos! Obrigado Pele! :)

Just another way to say 30-60 days...

My attitude through this whole thing is the same as it has always been: I'll believe it when I see it.

I traditionally like. Since world show intrest with Champions Tour, all-stars versus all. It has new mean. Situation is a shame, if you look at J-League. The debacle envolve expansion. This might be seek and find.

Didn't he have a soccer-bashing column earlier this year? Curious. I'm not about to attribute any turnaround to strongly worded e-mails from BigSoccer posters, but curious nonetheless.

Is that some kind of pun or riddle?
