View Full Version : Carling Cup - Manchester City vs Fulham - [R]
Time to move on folks.
Wednesday game, should see some fringe players and late starters(hopefully Zabs, Petrov, possibly RSC, Tevez and Onouha) get some time under their belt.
We should do well IMO.

Apparently Ned is out for a couple of weeks (according to ssn). Fulham with be playing their B side... we have no fit forwards - in fact I just got off the phone with Mark Hughes but since I am in Texas I can't make it to COMS in time to play centre forward. Oh well... we should win 2-0, but these are the kind of matches that sustain the "Typical City" concept. Love to see Vlad, Zab and Sylivinho get a run out.
My guess for the starting 11:
Given; Bridge, Lescott, Toure, Zab; De Jong, Ireland, Barry; Petrov, Benjani, Vlad Weiss

He called me as well but I said that I have a tendency to lose my head after a goal, hail a hackney, go to Buckingham Palace, and dance the Chacarera in front of the upright lads while repeating Gregorian chants till I invoked the till then dead soul of Sir Fergie. He said, right now at least, I wasn't what he was looking for. He'll keep me in mind for the FA Cup, though.

It is (I'm not quite sure how they line up)
Given
Zabaleta - Toure - Lescott - Bridge
Wright-Phillips - De Jong - Ireland - Barry
Tevez - Bellamy
Subs: Taylor, Garrido, Sylvinho, Petrov, Vidal, Weiss, Ball.
Hughes has made just one change to the starting line-up from the last game at Old Trafford, at right back.

37' GOAL Man City 0-1 Fulham
Fulham goal: Fulham wait 37 minutes to have their first shot on goal - and it's an absolute belter as Zoltan Gera catches a half-volley from 25 yards to perfection, the ball rocketing past Shay Given in the City goal. Yikes.
Sounds like a great strike, albeit against the run of play.
