I'm sure those in Europe have seen their fair share of good soccer related commercials. However, for those here in America, we get a few. Everyone can remember the Brazilians at the airport. (where can i get a copy).
The newer one with the Portugese v. Brazil was very good, with a good move by Ronaldinho, but why was RvN and Cantona there???
But the new commercial with Henry is the best commercial i've ever seen! When he steps on the ball and turns it....that is the most amazing piece of skill i've ever seen, although it can't be good for everything other than nike commercials. i know i saw davids and ljungberg, but who was the other defender? and of course nike had to put a shot of manu in there, they can't let that go i guess. but at least henry got his own commercial all by himself almost. at least in the states.

"Helen - that Frenchmans outside again!"
Seriously the best part is when he opens up the door and about half of Man Utd's starting 11 is standing there and just says "boo". Also who is the other player with Davids in that scene where Henry and Ljungberg are in the driveway playing keep-away with the ball? I thought it was Ballack but i'm not sure.

It definitely wasn't Ballack. He's an adidas man and in the new "Road to Lisbon" commercial.
I was pleased to see Tim Howard adding his "Boo" to the Man U chorus.

I liked the "Rounder" ball commercial for Nike. The move that Davids pulls at the end is just sick.

I taped the US v Grenada game and watched that commercial about 5 times in a row smiling more and more each time I think. I did finally notice that Sir A F is just a cardboard cut out, he does not say "Boo." I too was glad that Timmy was shown.

I wish I had copies of the Nike commercials that ran during the World Cup, with the 2 player elimination tournaments on the ship....

not sure about the best piece of skill. just good balance. the commercial was funny and good, but there are other commercials out there with more appeal i think (the mission, the secret tournament, good vs. evil, adidas commercial with becks on the golf course...) maybe its just I have seen it so many times, but its more funny than anything. just my opinion.

That is cantona in the secret tournament vid. The Swedish girl was found on soccernet under Yesterday's photos when Sweden played. Or you can find it on my site under yesterday's post. The link is in my sig. And you can find pics of girls from WC02 in the link below. I wish they had those shots in the stands of Titi's wife though. If she were a president, she'd be Baberaham Licoln

For pure skill, the best ever is the Nike airport commercial with the Brazil nationals. Most soccer commercial sites still have it, and it's the one that inspired all the rest.
And for the guy who asked why Cantona is in the new one - Eric is in all of them. In the Airport version, he's sitting on a plane reading the paper. It's sort of a running joke now. I loved his hamming it up in the "cage" spots.

Looking back at how the 1998 WC ended, Cantona's reaction in that first airport commercial was spot on. The Brazilians show dazzling skill all over the terminal and tarmac but Cantona just looks up for a second from his paper and shrugs...mmehh. Kind of like what France did during the finals. :p
And before anybody jumps on me...I'm not anti-Brazil...but to the contrary, enjoy seeing them play.

I liked the ad with the players having a kickabout on the beach from the '98 World Cup. The look on Ronaldo's face when they stick him in goal is priceless. And iirc, the music was the Austin Powers theme tune too.

My favorites are:
1. The Mastercard Roy Lassiter commerical
2. The Mastercard commercial were all the people on the street are swapping shirts.
3. The Mastercard commercial from France '98. (Ticlets to Paris -- $600, Metropass, $30, etc).
4. The Addidas "Footballitis" commercials from 2002.

Football does attract a good number of hot chicks. God, how I love them. Now if we could just get a shot of them hugging after a goal......
