Comcast or Direct TV ?
In the end I decided to purchase Comcast as it was cheaper for what I needed i.e. Fox Sports World. Also I was not stuck into a years contract.
I sat down on Saturday morning to watch the opening game of Euro 2004 and missed first 25 minutes as COMCAST had some technical issues. Oh how nice ! I missed a coupe of goals already.
Now then, on PPV Channel 801 you dont have to select the games if you have purchased the package (179.00) as they automatically come on the screen.
Yesterday I left my 8 hour recording both games for when I got home. I decided to watch the Sweden game first as it had more goals. After this goal feast I though I may watch a bit of the Italy game in bed. But I was gobsmacked that when I rewind my VHS tape it had recorded just the PPV screen and the Italy game had not automatically come on, unlike the Sweden game. Oh how nice again.
I phoned COMCAST and demanded a discount. They knocked 20.00 off my bill and 5.00 for Saturdays event.
The women was very rude and said in future if the games do not come on straight away then to call COMCAST to fix the problem. I said that was not good enough as I would have to call COMCAST, wait in a line on the phone and then wait another 5 minutes while they take my details and then another 5 minutes while they try and fix the problem. In that time I have lost 15 minutes of the game. Ok I understand that 15 minutes of a game is not alot of time. But if I missed the first 15 minutes of a film I could miss the plot completely. Hence I could miss a goal\s, fight, red card, near miss or anything.
If this happens again i'm not going to pay and will cancel my contract. Maybe I should have gone with Direct TV afterall...........
