I was watching French tv last week and there was a interview with Guy Roux and Arsene Wenger, where the interviewer asked Guy Roux if Mexes is set to join Roma and he replied that Mexes will not join Roma and said we have had an offer from a english club. Then the interviewer turns to Arsene Wenger and asked if Mexes was one of his summer signings, Wenger looked embrassed and replied he cant comment on this but nothing is certain in football.

Yeah, he also told everyone that Henry was hurt and would have to sit for 2 or 3 games after the CL 1/4's, too.

Well, I would not mind if Roma got Mexes, but I would not tolerate it if u guys got him.. we could easily out bid you anyway.. not a problem...

It seems we have offered alot and got the bid accepted but Mexes did not want to come.. if he came now, he certainly would not be guaranteed to start all the games... since we did not likely spend 6 mill on a back up defender, although if we were to sell nicky butt and phil neville I could see it happening, because our depth would be decreased and Mexes has considerable skillz and lots of potential...

however I doubt we will end up with him... at this point I think we would be closer to a deal for another player... see transfer rumours thread..
