advocaat has released the starting lineup and i must give him credit for deploying van der vaart on the LW - some of rafi's best days were at that position - also, heitenga usurps reiziger in the XI
.......................van der sar
heitenga......stam...........bouma.......van bronckhurst
.......sneijder.........cocu.......davids
van der meyde.........................van der vaart
...........................ruud
as i said, you guys are on your own for PbP on this one

:) Your'e wrong, this is the line-up for tonight!
Wesley Sneijder will not be a starter.....
Also, there could be a replacement for Bouma! He
has some stagenerves and his replacement for
tonight could be Frank de Boer! Mark my words.....
.......................van der sar...............................
heitinga........ stam.......bouma.......van bronckhorst
.......VdVaart.........cocu.............davids...............
van der meyde.........................Zenden...............
...........................ruud.....................................

Swan is right, but it's more likely we'll play a 4-4-2 system instead of 4-3-3 due to Advocaat's lack of courage..

It will be a mix with a 4-3-3 and a 4-4-2 system!
I think we will see a diamond in the offence.....

No Advocaat is. :(
Zenden and Ruud in the same team.... oh my God, Holland has a chance of losing against this Germany! ;)
edit: shít, just read that he might bring in Frank "I give away a goalscoring opportunity at least once a game" de Boer instead of Bouma as well. Did the KNVB research Dikkie Dick's background, it looks like he might have some German in him.

Actually I think bring in Zenden and possibly Frank DB for Bouma are good moves for this match.
Germany are going to be counterattacking and I believe Bouma's lapses in concentration and poor communication with Stam aren't best suited to dealing with them. Bring in Frank for his experience and hopefully better chemistry with Stam.
Zenden has the raw pace and gives balance on the left. The German defence is particularly susceptible to pace and at the very least this will force them to sit further back making it easier to put pressure on them.
If these two changes happen I will be more confident about a Dutch win than I was earlier.

first let me say...
1-i prefer sneijder, and for that matter robben, coming off the bench
2-i am not as afraid of zenden up front as most... well its not as if he's the LB, that would be a problem
BUT
a)i still see bouma's name in that lineup - i'd gladly take heitenga for him & keep reiziger
b)VDV as RM? yes dick, please let's move him as far away from goal as possible

I heard Wesley Sneijder was going to start. Hopefully Holland will beat Germany, haven't really got anything against Germany but it's just i think Holland are very underrated as a team.

I agree completely, but I must admit that I don't think Oranje will win it tonight if we continue to play as Advocaat has planned. We've proven over the last couple of weeks that we can not play in a 4-4-2 system. Why he leaves Sneijder out is a complete mystery to me.

Yes thank you, I haven't posted here since the humiliating defeat of Ajax against Brugge in the Champions League.
But back on topic, I don't see Oranje beating the Germans. I wonder what's going on in Advocaat's head. Maybe it's all a trick so that the German's wont know what hits them when we attack 4-3-3 style. But alas it seems it's just wishful thinking on my behalf. Who do you think should be our forward? Kluivert, Makaay or van Nistelrooy?
