Just starting now. I'm going offline till after the tape delay...
hey look! I remembered the [r] :D
line up is howard, heitinger, yobo, distin, baines, ossie, cahill, felli, peanut rodwell, saha
looks good but i'd rather gosling in for ossie. I'm not liking ossie at the mo.
bench is nash, hibbo, yak, gosling, jo, and 2 young'uns, one i've never heard the name. is billy injured? ********ing shit if he is :( he's not on the bench. :(

didn't realize he was injured, was at work and only had a half an eye on the game. ********ing hell. how many injuries can we absorb without ********ing curling up and giving up???
3-0 win, not too pretty - rovers were determined to keep us from playing like we can - great game by peanut, rodwell had some good moments. baines had some good moments. Felli has lost his confidence. it's all entirely to do with his head right now. his shoulders are slumped he's so dejected. every time he gets the ball he starts out exactly the right way, stutters as he second guesses himself and then either passes back or gets dispossed of the ball. it makes me sad :(
Saha is pure class. the man was SO upset sitting on the bench! he wanted that hattrick and i don't blame him :) but we've got a hectic schedule, better keep our starters as fit as we can, esp when we're up 3 or more goals ;-)

I thought Everton looked pretty good, though I wonder how different the final outcome might have been had Diouf's header gone in early on.
It's good to see our summer's signings playing well. Distin and Heitinga are a definite plus to the defense, and Bilya looked a bit like a left-footed Beckham out there the other day.

On a side note, this whole "fight against racism" thing seems to be getting a bit silly.
After the match, Diouff was questioned by Merseyside police for allegedly saying "F--- off, white boy" after a ball boy was slow to get the ball to him.

Certainly Diouff acted rudely. But for the police to even bother investigating this supposedly racist incident is stupid, IMHO.

Its a shame the Diouf incident will spoil what was a good day for the Blues.
Sadly his reputation will precede him once again and although I think it is a minor incident it is one he could have avoided - it just shows he hasn't learnt to keep out of trouble after all these years.
Apart from that it was a very professional performance from the Blues. We were still a bit shaky at the back and the turning point was definitely when Rovers hit the bar, but once we scored there was only ever one winner.
When playing three games in a week it is important to conserve energy and wrapping up the game after an hour was pleasing as we could slow the play down after that.

Great brace from Saha, worked perfectly, Jo doesn't seem to have had much luck upfront just lately, bar the AEK goal. Saha is a more predatory striker and it worked wonders in a game that was always bound to be scrappy, when you're playing any Allardyce team. Still a great win! Two confidence boosting games in a row, Yobo looks brimming at the moment, defensively and attackingly, two goals in two games, the boy's been eating his shredded wheat for sure!

Yobo may have been on the shreaded wheat...but Cahill needs to get back on the Weet-bix.
Quiet again yesterday. Hope he'll come back with a bang against Hull on Wednesday.

i actually think cahill did a better job yesterday than he has been. he was playing a LOT further back, almost in the withdrawn arteta roll last year. he was next to rodwell and the two of them had a lot of good stuff going on between them and out to the wings. sprang peanut many times! He also was on Ossies wing a lot helping out (ossie was pretty bad yesterday, even for him :\ just... ineffective.) I liked what I saw from cahill in holding (almost) mid. that might be a better way to go, with felli pushed more forwards -if/when felli gets his mind right that is...

Cahill is playing in the wrong position for the team, playing him in the hole behind Jo is what cost us the Fulham game. He doesn't act as a link between midfield and attack, he drops back to help the midfield and turns us into a negative 4-5-1 against a team we should beat. Which is why i'd rather play a 4-4-2 than a 4-4-1-1 with Cahill playing CF.

Wasn't a bad game for you guys. Like the man said, entertaining as you'll get against Big Sam and his cloggers. 3 good goals and 3 useful points.
Loved the comms pre game stupit comment time. "Everton really need to get some points" No shit!!!
The reply of course was "I can see them getting any here"
Doncha just luv them!

I thought Saha finally looked like the player he was at United.
Skillful, quick and incisive, I just pray he doesn't pick up a another injury because he could bag 20 goals this season easily.

I'd like to see Saha do well -- but not too well.
Otherwise some "big" club might want to try to poach him from us in an attempt to mimic Chelsea's successful fling with Anelka.

someone offered 8 mill for him and he turned it down. course they weren't in the prem, but he likes it at everton.
what I like about him is that he offered to only be paid when he played right when we were in talks with him. he isn't about the money, he's about the game. his composure and his skills are great. it's a damn shame about his injury luck :( *knocks on wood that he doesn't get any more*
class act all the way. our young'uns can only learn from him! :)

He's 31 and a striker. If we do get a big bid then someone is desperate

Louis Saha will score goals for as long as he plays football. His age is kind of irrelevant

Naturally :) I'm just saying a big money bid for an older striker is a bit unlikely due to his age (clubs tend to look at 30+ year old strikers in an unfavorable light because strikers tend to lose their touch faster than everyone else).
