Easy win for Canada. Belize were athletic, but that was about it. They had a few decent players who seemed to be able to run... but without the ball.

It would have been nice to score the early goal, but unfortunately that didn't happen. Canada were never really troubled by Belize who were clearly outclassed. Belize had a good 25 minutes to start the game... after that they just couldn't keep up. Canada hit the post four times.

All in all it was a good game. Too bad it started to rain at kickoff... I was freezing for the entire first half.

Congratulations! Now can we have Frank Yallop back?;) Seriously though,
how did DeRosario and Onstad do? I hope they played like the champions they are. You guys have a lot of US fan's support, hope you make it to the big party:D Good luck the rest of the way.

Against a team that couldn't score in a whorehouse on a Saturday night, Onstad almost let in a howler coming out for a ball that clearly wasn't his to get. Otherwise, he was alright :).
DeRosario looked fine but we need to get our defence sorted before we meet better opposition. Watson was exposed badly a couple of times.
On the other hand though, the team had a gazillion chances, passed the ball quite well and most importantly looked happy (which has not been the case for some 3 years). I'm getting into the Frank Yallop Experience.

Agreed. A better team will take advantage of the mistakes by the Canadian team.

The mistake by Onstad was the really only good scoring chance that Belize had during the entire game. The one chance that they had that went 10 yards over the net doesn't count. ;)

Where do the Belice players play for the most part?
Are most Belice-league based?

All of them play in the semi-pro league in Belize. Apparently a few of the players were still in high school.

Belize does have a few players in Guatemala and Honduras, but they couldn't afford to bring them back for the camp.

Did any individuals stand out as to maybe be brought to the USL system perhaps?

This wasn't a suprise. Belize is a tiny, poor country of 272,000 people.

I forget the name of the keeper, but he was the only real player that could get a look by a USL team. He needs some more coaching, but the talent for the PSL or A-League could be there.

Shane Orio was the keeper's name. He looked pretty decent. Very athletic, would be a good project for an A-league team with a reliable starter.
