I am finally buying WE7 but I can't decide on PC or PS2. I'm also thinking of getting the new Euro 2004 game with the same platform issue.
To those who have played it on both, which would you recommend? BTW, I have a good pc with a good graphics card and a dual analog controller so that won't be a problem.

i prefer to play it on my pc but they are the same. maybe the graphic is clearer on the pc, that's the only difference i can think of.

The PC game is easier to patch and keep current.
The PS2 game is a tad more portable though. :)

Well, I knew that. I should have been more clear.
What I meant is do I need to get the PC version because it can be patched? I think I heard something about errors in WE7 names and/or US players that required a patch.
Also does having it on the pc change the controls at all or is it just analog controllers for both? I know that some console games are easier to control on the pc for tasks like changing lineups, selecting options, formation changes, etc.
Thanks.

Yeah, I've got it for the PC. It's essentially the same game as on the PS2, especially if you have a PSX->USB converter for your controller (which I picked up for about $10 at a local Radio Shack).
I like the PC version for the same reason I prefer most PC games - easier, and faster, editability. PESinsight.com's forums usually have patches which include updated rosters and proper kits/flags which give the PC game a much more realistic look, or you can just mess around like I do.
And if you happen to have Championship Manager 4, you can do a lot more fooling around since there's a CM4->WE7 ratings converter, and I've used that to put MLS/Mexican teams in the game, using photos from team websites to come up players' physical appearances.
I just wish the PC version had unlimited editability, so you didn't run the risk of screwing up the national teams via the mass editing of players on club teams.
