I've put a tenner on ye to win the tournament @ 8/1.

So at least there would be some compensation if the world does come to an end, :)
IMO those are decent odds (normally "British" sides are too short than their real ability because of patriotic betting), I think the odds of it happening are slightly better than that.
Not that I would be upset to lose my stake, of course.

Can't lose the slip as I bet online - do you really think I would walk into a betting shop in the middle of Edinburgh and ask out loud if I could wager £10 on England to win?

No, I didn't shop around particularly, but as I said before you never get great odds betting on a "home nation" (or the club teams, for that matter) in the UK. I guess the same is true of other countries and teams in that particular country.

BTW, I stuck a further tenner on at 10/1 between the French game and the Swiss game. :p So I now stand to receive £200 (£180 winnings + £20 stake) if disaster happens.
England are now 5/1 second favourites. France 11/4 favourite, Italy and Czechs 7s (Italy are far too short given their group position), Spain 15/2, no-one else shorter than 10s. There is quite a lot of each way value though, Denmark 20s, Greece 25s, (dare I say it) Croatia 80s (!).
If only my fantasy team was doing as well, LOL. Bloody Henry!!! :mad:
