Homer pick:
1) Fernando Torres
2) Arjen Robben/van der Vaart/Sneijder (whichever)
3) Daniele de Rossi (Roma)
4) Niko Kranjcar (Dinamo Zagreb)
5) Sarioglu Sabri (Galatasaray)
Rooney and Ronaldo are out because those picks are just too well known. Not that Torres isn't, but I had to put him there since he is a Colchonero.

The problem with Ali is that he is becoming annoyingly injury-prone. Hopefully he grows out of this or he could end up like Jeffers, but with smaller ears.

Just based on Euro 2004, I would put Ronaldo and Rooney ahead of Torres.

Ronaldo has produced a goal and a nice assist in two sub appearances. Rooney has been great in his own right for England, and you would have to say that both have been the brightest spots for each nation....

I think aliadiere is a decent talent, but he made a huge mistake by moving to Arsenal so young. I think other than a few circumstances foreign talent should develop in their own league. Aliadiere would have been much better if he was playing 1st team football at Auxerre or Nantes. The same thing with that French kid a Bologna. They dubbed him the next Zidane, he should still be playing in France. There are plenty of examples. Madds Timms, one of the most sought after youth players a few years back. Now he just returned on loan from a club in Norway(I think) and he couldn't get a game there.
