It's not a news item that is burning up the charts but I do think it's hysterical.

Now grant it, the details of the plan are, as of now, still out of my reach. Putting the clubs in debt aside? Or putting Manchester City aside.

How on earth does a midtable team in ANY league, mind you, make it to europe at this point. Over a 38 game season it takes a group of pretty high caliber players to make it to the top of any league. In order to get said players, a midtable team would 1.have to take out a loan, or 2.need additional investment.... these things are not very complicated or scary.

But what's the motivation for anyone now to invest in any midtable club, so long as the reward for making it to Europe (in gates, TV revenue and additional advertising) will now... NOT EXIST.

Midtable Squad: Why can't I go to Europe?
UEFA:cause you didn't use money you earned
Midtable Squad:What's the best way to Earn Money?
UEFA:Make it to Europe

Joseph Heller wrote a book about this stuff!!

The Frenchman said he also had the support of the clubs. "The teams who play in our tournaments have unanimously agreed to our principles," he added.

There's a shock. Unless there are loopholes, domestically it'll be almost impossible to usurp the 'top4' such is their financial advantage.

Making for a very stale state of affairs.

"Manchester City agree sponsership deal with company linked to shiekh owner: Deal believed to be around $100M per season"

There will be ways around it.

Hahaha, yeah there you go!

I like where your heads at.

That reminds me of the Radio Industry.
Payola is Illegal in radio, so technically a record company is not allowed to Pay to get played. So the way around it is. They pay for an "Independent" Record Promoter, who will buy Promotional Items like Vans, or Car give-aways, or Vacation give-aways, or tickets to shows and "give" them to Radio Stations.. who in turn "give" them as prizes to listeners.

In return the radio stations always play songs the Record Company, thru the Independent Promoter, want you to hear. But it's not "Payola"
