Sorry, didn't see this when I started the other thread.
This is awful.
Who's this terrble comedian with the bald head and the stupid pictures?
Oh, Jim Norton, "Univited Guest."
I didn't laugh once.

I completely forgot about it until about 10:40. Much of the same, based just on that, though.

That Tom Cruise thing was painful.
So explain to me, why the hell did Leno leave the Tonight Show for this garbage?

I think it was said to be cheaper to produce, so maybe more money in the end.

Not if no one watches this crap and they cancel it.
How is this any different than the Tonight Show, except it starts earlier?

Hopefully no one will in coming weeks. But from the reports I've heard, viewership was quite good for the debut.

17.7 Million views was the final tally.

I just didn't think he was funny at all.
His pictures reminded me of Carrot Top or Gallager "prop comedy."

I don't think it was his choice to leave the Tonight Show. My memory might fail me but I think he was "asked to leave" by NBC.

That's interesting to hear. I admit, I don't follow ratings wars that much, but for some reason, I thought Leno was (regrettably) killing Letterman in the ratings. Was there some other issue?

Was there some other issue? The issue was that NBC had to drastically cut costs on their prime-time programming, and a Jay Leno show was going to be their way of doing it.
I like Leno, but +1 on "Uninvited Guest" going down like a bird turd. They should make the show an hour of those stupid people getting simple questions wrong. I love that stuff.

They were going to lose Conan O'Brien 2 or 3 years ago, so in order to keep him at NBC, they wrote into his new contract that he would get the Tonight show in 2009. I guess they hoped Leno would retire? Wreck his motorcycle?
So 2009 comes and Leno is getting shoved out of the Tonight Show, and the rumor was he was going to leave to go to ABC. Instead NBC gives him the prime time slot. Problem solved!
There's a reason NBC is the number 4 network.
