You'd have thought the French might have learned their lesson after their humiliation at the World Cup - a particular highlight being Marcel Desailly's pre-match quote:

"Our wives and girlfriends aren't out here at the moment. They will be flying out to join us after the group stages."

However it looks like they are up to their old tricks again:

(that last one is my favourite).

With any luck, their arrogance will again come back to bite them in their collective arse.

Your Premiership managers are also full of arrogance. Guys like Sam Allerdyce trying to lure players who play on good Champions League teams to go play for his mediocre side. Kevin Keegan also guilty of that and others. They are so arrogant they think just playing in the Premership is enough to lure you. "Bad" teams in the Premiership who have no chance of winning a title still try to lure top players from Champions League teams because they are arrogant in thinking that everyone wants to play in "their" league. I dont think playing for Bolton, Manchester City or Blackburn is that much of a dream to a good foreign player who plays on a good Champions League team in France, Portugal, or Holland, etc.

What garbage. Try telling that to the players and their agents who beg the likes of Allardyce and Keegan to sign them. Kezman, Van Buyten, Djorkaeff.. they're all at it. The Premiership is a great and exciting league, any player with ambition wants to play there and leave the likes of France behind, even if it's for a midtable team.

 If these English teams were so arrogant, why do all these players continue to go to Bolton, Man City or Blackburn?

The players read and hear that the English media is telling them that you need to or have to play in the Premiership because its so great. They make it seem like your career is not complete unless you play in England. The players buy into the hype hook line and sinker. Plus they like the money. How many players have spurned Bolton this year alone. Quiet a few. Guys like Sam Allerdyce them aim too high for players and then look foolish when they dont get them.

Actually, if I made $200k a year in Holland and someone offered me $750k a year to play on a miserable English side I would be there in a heartbeat. Some of these teams in France and Holland play in front of 9,000 people a week. It is their living after all and they only get to make good money for four or five years.

Okay, change of subject, does anyone else think Terry being injured is a good thing? I think he is awful slow for international soccer and is fraction of the player Ferdinand is (or the "enhanced" Ferdinand is). Maybe the back up options aren't better but he seems to be either marking a great play or a huge mistake. Not just nice and steady.

I disagree.
Thierry Henery is one of the most arrogant players in football.
...he's very good, but very arrogant as well.

No. Terry's very solid. As for not being fast enough - doesn't seem to have hurt him too badly at Chelsea this year.

Aim too high? Like Okocha, Djorkaeff, Jardel, Javi Moreno and Ivan Campo?

You're making yourself sound like a garbled tool. It's a manager's job to recruit players for his squad, it's a free market and they can bid for whoever they want, if a player doesn't want to go he can always say no. Allardyce has never looked foolish. You just don't seem to understand the transfer market at all.

The English media luring players in? I suggest you get a clue mate, maybe you should actually try moving to France and seeing for yourself how ridiculous your points are. Players go to clubs like Bolton and Man City for the money and for the opportunity to play in a bigger and a better league. Simple as that, there's nothing wrong with it and it suits both parties. If players didn't want this, then they wouldn't go. You're whinging at the wrong people, if you want to complain about people leaving France then complain at them, ask Henry why he's at Arsenal and not Monaco, ask Zidane why he's at Real Madrid and not Marseille, ask Saha why he went to Fulham and then Man Utd rather than staying at Metz.
