I thought Bellamy was going to be classed as a midfielder.... he wasn't. He's going to get a hell of a lot more points than Salano anyway

This draft reminds of that board game I played as kid called Diplomacy. You had to try to take over the world, but the only way you could was by cooperating with the other players .... and then stab them in the back at the end of the game.
My moralistic dad hated us playing it because "we were always lying to each other and it makes your Mum get upset!!"

Any word on the expected time of arrival?
Regarding transfers once the draft is over and we all establish our drafted teams.
First, even though CYKI is doing the premierleague.com fantasy soccer game, it isn't on the CYKI.com site. As long as we all have the common knowledge that for the 2002-3 season, when we refer to CYKI game, it is this game on the premierleague.com site.
Just thought we ought to clarify this so that when we talk of forums for posting transfers there is no confusion.
In response to Paul (Clanblue), my understanding of what Jay said on transfers is that they will be posted in the "Very Small Rocks" League message forum on the premierleague.com fantasy soccer site. I see the process going like this:
Situation A: You have identified a player you want to drop.
1. You might try to shop him to the other league managers via PM's or emails, or even a post in the league message forum.
2. Assuming no trade is forthcoming, (and why would there, if managers are forewarned you will be putting that player back into the free agent pool), you make an unequivocal post that you have released a player into the free agent pool.
3. I don't think you can sell a player without putting in a replacement in order to have the transfer confirmed. Therefore, if that is true, then you should also be able to announce who you are acquiring.
4. Make the post, ensure no other manager has made a post claiming the same player with an earlier timed post, and then hit the confirm transfer button to complete the transfer.
5. All transfers are still subject to taxes and those more than one per week will cost 4 points.
6. Between the establishment of draft teams and the roster lock on Sep 10, all team adjustments are free of taxes and points, but still must be made via prior announcement in the league message forum to preclude teams having the same player.
Situation B: You've identified a player you want to acquire from the free agent pool.
1. Go ahead and plan your move as far as the click to confirm transfer step.
2. Make an unequivocal announcement in the league message forum that you are acquiring so and so.
3. Check to ensure that no other manager has posted a similar claim. If so, the one with the earlier post gets the player.
4. Hit the Confirm transfer button to complete the transaction.
The reason I stress checking the message forum just before confirming the transfer is that if someone else has an earlier post, you will have to make another transfer at the cost of 4 extra points.

Ingromius' eta is 10 AM EDT or in about 21 minutes according to his post or PM when he signed off yesterday.
I'm impressed with Paul (Clanblue). He only got to Plan B on the 8th round when Mills was picked. I was on Plan B at least by Round 2 and I'm up to Plan "Z" or "zed" now.

I had to go into Plan B on my first pick..... after the top three strikers on my initial draft were taken :(

Well, it's easy enough now as we have only 8 managers and plenty of players to pick from.
Like i said earlier though, i fear the last three rounds may take quite a while to conclude as managers struggle to keep within the confines of the cap and players may have to be traded/droped before they can pick.A lengthy process and may well run us into Monday (god i hope not)
Michael (Outback Maverick), if you're online, do you have any trades to announce? Hint. Hint.

The North Sea Islanders have gone in front against Scotland :)
If any of my players get injured during an international friendly, we're gonna have a whole new front in the club vs country war. I'll open up the fantasy club vs country front to go along with the fantasy club manager vs the club manager who benches my player for unannounced player rotations front.

Teams also are still limited to no more than 3 players from any one team.

Hal
You are doing a fantastic job keeping this all going.
Do you think all these 8 teams should all be thrown in to our other premiership league as well? We have 22 right now, throw in these 8 to make 30 and find two more to make a nice 32 to allow us to do a decent cup competition?
Just something to think about.

What do you do if you're drawn against your other team?

07 Sep 2002, 10:31 AM
That's part of the fun, I don't think any of our teams would likely win it, the other teams "should" be stronger, but any given week someone unexpected gets a hattrick (Anelka) and you have a shock.
Like I said, just a suggestion, 22 is an awkward number to do anything with. I could throw a Liverpool Old Boys team in, there are at least 15 ex-Reds on other teams, create a couple of teams like that and you have the 32 we would need.
This Ingromius watch is like watching grass grow.
I need to run to the base pharmacy to get some meds. Will be back in 30 min. I'll try to have my son monitor this thread and call me on the cell phone if I need to make a pick.
