Sorry if this is a commonly known goal, but damn I had never seen that before. Beckham-esque indeed.

That was spectacular. I saw a few like that the other night on GolTV from the Mexican Clausura and other leagues in Central/South America.

Well alright but I hardly see what Wenger has to do with anything.

Two great goals. Good enough to be candidate for goals of the year. I had never seen a goal like that. Better and farther than those scored by Beckham.

Wasnt Beckham's goal against wimbledon from behind the halfway line?

Well the reason he doesn't score from outside the box for United is simple, its not because he cannot. Its because he doesn't shoot from there! He takes almost no shots from outside the box for United hence he obviously scores no goals, its not his job to shoot from there. Gerd Muller, most prolific striker in history, never scored from barely more than 6 yards out, was still a damn fine skill. Ruuds job is predatory and to hold the ball up not to shoot from distance. That goal is awsome btw and you would almost never see him in a similar situation at United. Running at goal from that far out.

I am not sure about that. Was the goal you mentioned on a dead ball play?

Nope, it was in the run of play, Becks hit it just as the ball was crossing the half way line. I heard Fergie gave him a bullocking after the game for showboating....

It was a nice goal. I used to do something like that on FIFA '96. Take the Dutch, get Bergkamp just past the midfield dtripe out on the left, turn and lob a bender. Tope right corner every time and only a couple of the keepers in the game could stop it 50% of the time.
Unfortunately my buddies caught on to this and they'd just foul the sh!t out of Bergkamp from the get go in an attempt to injure. I did play quite a few games up 2 men, though.

Becks is lucky Vinnie Jones wasn't around to put him in his place for being so daft. =)
