In or within 50 miles of Jackson, MO. But I'd also be interested to hear about surrounding areas and states.

Well Jackson appears to be a little over 100 miles south of St. Louis, Mo. If you know anything about soccer, St. Louis is the soccer hotbed of the WORLD, just ask anyone from St. Louis. :D Just kidding. As much as it pains me to say this there are some truely high caliber clubs/teams in St. Louis. I've never played against any teams from Jackson or anywhere near there. Kansas City would probably be next in line with Springfield, Joplin, Columbia all fight it out after that. I don't know much about any teams from Tenn. or Ken. Ill. has some outstanding teams but they are mostly around the Chicago area. The girls team I coach will be facing a team from Arkansas in a tournament in a couple of weeks. If you have any other questions just ask.

Considering I live in Jackson I'll try to answer a few questions. Jackson has a rec league as well as a few of the towns in the area (Cape Girardeau, Sikeston, Perryville). They run Fall and Spring seasons (normally around 10-12 games)

Not sure about the Horde (Kindergarten) but 1-2 grade and 3-4 grade usually play 8 vs. 8. All grades tend to use keepers. There's normally enough kids for a girl and a boys side of the program with each grade pairing having around 6 teams.

By the time 5-6 grade, the boys are becoming fewer and fewer. We had 25 boys sign up. Too many for 1 team, barely enough for 2 teams. 5-6 grade play teams from Cape Girardeau and Sikeston. It's 11 vs 11 on a big pitch, and their using full size goals.

7-8 grade usually play co-ed.

There are a couple of travel clubs in the area, one organization is ran by the High school coach: http://www.jacksonunited.org/

They seem to do good via their results but I've never seen them play. For the most part, travel kids normally do not play in rec league, at least in Jackson.
