I would have voted Romario (he scored goals by day and went clubbing by night; that's pretty pure. ;)), so I picked other.

I also quibble about including Baggio and Van Basten, both of whom did so much more than just score.

I think Henry at least deserves a spot in this poll. He's won a World Cup, Premiership title, he's a great striker.

How did Shevchenko get on that list??? I know he is a very good striker, but one of the best since the 80's??? I don't think he rates in my top 5 current strikers anyway.

The silliest part of this poll is the absence of Romario, a world champion who has scored more than 900 goals and is still scoring! Others that need to be mentioned include Batistuta, Careca, Rossi and Voller.

It would have been Romario for me. From that list, I would be inclined to vote for Ronaldo. Van Basten was great, but he had more of an all-round game. I would call him a forward rather than a pure striker.
