View Full Version : Question for UEFA Action Pack Subscribers

I just subbed to the E2K4 Action Pack, and am having fun browsing through some of the historic moments in European Championships history.

A couple of questions come to mind, that perhaps the CL subscribers can answer:

1. What exactly is 'extended' highlights? Some of the games on here claim to be just that, and run 5-7 minutes. Is that what I can expect?

2. The highlights are available 90 minutes after the game has finished -- but if I log into my action pass, will I see the result? I.E. Will it say, England 0-2 France, click here for highlights, or just 'click here for EngvFra' ?

What happened with the CL subscription?

1. I believe that is exactly what you will get. 5-7 minutes of highlights.

2. UEFA Action Pass always shows the results. I know a lot of people get mad about that but when given a list of matches to watch some people would rather select a match that had a few goals and not spend a couple hours watching a boring 0-0 draw. That's just the reverse thought for those that don't want results shown.

UEFA CL subscription is still there. It runs year round. There is news all summer and you can still watch all of the matches that have taken place in the past season.

Heck, I was under the impression when I bought it that I could see the ENTIRE game delayed. Its actually only 20 minutes of condensed footage. DANG IT. Unless of course, someone knows something I don't.

You are not the only one upset by this. In fact, if you look on the match panel, the audio replays are free to the public. What's with that? I'm glad I didn't pay more than $15. It only cost me 15 chances at winning the lottery (like that would have happened).

I was to the Euro 2004 Action page this morning and got a really bit of bad news. ALL of the audio on the site is FREE including match reruns and the LIVE commentaries. The only thing we are paying for is video highlights. What a rip-off.

Well, if you look at the webpage, you'll notice that they have the green asterisk indicating that it is free. Take a look.

I haven't been able to make a single thing work on the action pack site since the tourney began, which means I am now at five matches and counting without getting any service for my $15. I emailed Real as soon as problems arose ... they said they'd reply in 48 hours ... OK, it's been a weekend, but time's up, I canceled my subscription.

To test it, I clicked on the Sweden-Bulgaria "Live Match Commentary" during the second half. It redirected me to the subscription page. Therefore, it looks like the live commentaries are reserved for subscribers.

To paraphrase Bill Murray: so you've got that going for you...which is nice.

However, the England-France audio archive popped right up, available to any old bastard with a computer.

The highlight videos are very choppy for me. I don't know if it's the site or my ISP, but MLSNET's hightlights are fine, so i'm bit disappointed at the site.

What's really dumb about the Action Pass is that audio streams of all the games are available live at bbc.co.uk.

That's the last $15 UEFA's ever getting from me. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

UEFA got all of our hopes up because of the excellent package it offers with the UEFA.com Action Pass. This past season of it with all of the video replays spoiled all of us who had. Hopefully, they won't degrade it like Euro 2004 for next season.

For the most part I agree wtih you but it could be argued that the video highlights are worth $15. Yes, you can get them from the BBC or ITV but in the BBC's case the quality is crap unless you have a REALLY high speed connection and in ITV's case you get about six seconds of video per game and the files take up a ton of space on the hard drive.

The Euro2004.com highlights are horrible. I can't get a good stream and the video quality is horrendous. The website itself is awful, full of broken links, and difficult to navigate. So far this is the worst $15 I ever spent on a internet service.

I'm sure you can get a lot of good internet porn for $15.
Now you know what to do with your $ next time.

Count me among those who wasted the money.

The free stuff on the bbc site is much better.

The video highlights are not great from the BBC. I can see
where on the rare occasion when its working well the uefa
pay stuff is better, but I rarely seem to get it to work.

Plus, I love the "virtual replay" of the goals from the BBC.

I ordered Euro2004.com Action Pass about a month ago. I wasn't going to order it at first since I'd already ordered the PPV. But I then relented and ordered the package basically for all the old archived footage of Euro's past. I think it was worth $15 just for that. I never had any problems with the video. But then Euro 2004 kicked off and the video was buffering every 30 seconds. Which was totally unacceptable for the amount they charged people for this. But saying that, in the last 2 days the video steam seems to be coming in flawlessly. Maybe they had alot of complaints and improved the service.
