Grahame L. Jones: L.A. Will Get Second Pro Soccer Team (http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-chivas5jun05,1,4195456.story?coll=la-headlines-sports)
Of course, Garber and Vergara both deny that a final decision has been made.
"Chivas to LA" is not "Official" since no announcement has been made and no agreement has been signed. Stay tuned...
"The decision to allow a second MLS team in Los Angeles was made only after AEG had commissioned a study on the effect Chivas USA would have on the Galaxy, which has averaged a league-high 21,083 fans a game over the last eight years.
The study showed that, based on demographics, there were enough fans locally to support both clubs and, as important, to create a genuine rivalry."

In fairness, it says the team he supports is Chivas USA, not Chivas, so LA is the place he'll need to be.
We need rival fans to yell at and to help the league get richer.
It will be interesting to see how the HDC deals with seating when we play them. Will seating be separated like the rest of the world does? An away section? I doubt it but perhaps they'll offer one as an option to ticket purchasers.

Great News!
LA is where the new Chivas belong, since that's where all the Guadalajara people are at.
I'll be supporting them from Texas!

By limiting Chivas USA to only 6 Mexicans as the internationals and using only Mexican-American or hispanic players, they are severely handicapping themselves. Other MLS teams can have internationals from around the world as well as using the whole plethora of American talent: white, black, Asian American, and, yes, hispanic. The goats may have a decent attendence, but they're not going to be a contender for quite some time.
As for the Riot Squad? We'll be singing "Goatbusters".
We may even temporarily change our name to the LA Chupacabras.
LA GALAXY FOR LIFE.

I agree with your premise, but to be precise they can have up to four SI's from Mexico, plus several TI's from Mexico, so long as the League has no more than 24 total, plus whatever green-carded Mexicans they manage to find.
Still, they will be severely limited in the talent available to them, if they choose to stick with this idea.

I think that may become a chant to be passed around the league. :D

Chivas is supported by fans all around the world, maybe you are saying that because you like the America-ca team (the Chivas rival).

I know, I can't tell you how many pictures of Japanese girls I've seen in Chivas jerseys on Football Mundial.

Amen.
This is an American league designed to promote the game in the US and develop US players.
Chivas will create rivalry, but it will also create animosity. It will divide LA along racial lines, which is not what we want in this country. Splitting people along ethnic lines only creates hatred and outsiders.
Isn't it illegal to employ people in this country based on ethnicity or race? So if he chooses a Latino team, it's discriminatory. How about an MLS team declare it will employ only white American players, as Chivas only has Mexican players? Do you think that would fly?

Interesting that there are 3 new bigsoccer users, joined June 2004 (within a few days). Pique, Garaceg, and Octavius Agustus, each one with a few posts mainly only posting in ChivasUSA threads. Pique said he will be a ChivasUSA convert fan in his first post ever. Interesting that its in this thread that they all decided to "come out".
I could be wrong but it appears as if someone likes having multiple personalities just to falsely portray a fanbase thats non-exist. Just the impression I get.
