MONTREAL, QC -- A goal from Leonardo Di Lorenzo in the first half was sufficient to give the Montreal Impact (10-10-6) a 1-0 win against the Carolina RailHawks (14-6-7), Wednesday, in front of 11,173 spectators at Saputo Stadium. With this victory, the Impact has moved up to 5th in the standings and is now playing at the .500 mark for the first time since July 5.
“I think that this victory against a great team arrives at the right moment for us,” declared Impact head coach Marc Dos Santos. “This win means a lot for the team. The players gave everything and they suffered a lot. The opponent put a lot of pressure on us but we remained solid. It’s with that type of attitude that the character of champions is built.”
