There are, like, a ZILLION Man Utd DVDs available, but I haven't seen any of 'em. I'm not a zillionaire, or even a millionaire. I'm more like a hundredaire. So, let's say I've only got enough money for one, maybe two, Man Utd DVDs (not so interested in video tapes). Which should I buy and why? If the one you like best isn't listed, please tick the "other" box and explain below.

Get the goals collection and the Official History. Swing the Bestie one too, if possible. :D

I ordered the Treble DVD last month; when it comes in, I'll post a "review".

I own the history and the goals collection; out of those two, I'd go for the history. THe goals DVD is fun but after about 15-30 minutes, it gets to be a little too much...

I would choose Official History. It's good to know the recent history of the team but also know in details how the team originated.

Official history is good. I voted for the classic matches because that is the one I want to get.

I dunno which region it's in, actually; I have a converter here though so it shouldn't be a problem.

I found a "Region Free" copy on Ebay a couple of months ago. It has worked on every player I've put it on.

DVDs that are labelled Region 1 will only play in DVD players that can handle that region. That is the region for the USA and Canada. Region 2 is for Europe and Japan, so a DVD sold in the UK might not play in a US player. If you have a DVD lying around somewhere, take a look at the back and you should see a region label.

bigtoga, you say you have a converter, but is it a format converter (PAL<-->NTSC) or a region converter? I've never heard of a region converter. I ask because I once ordered a DVD from eBay that was called "All region", but I couldn't play it in a DVD player here because it was a PAL format DVD.

Suffice to say that if you live in the United States or Canada, and, strangely, it seems like EVERYONE on this forum does (where are the British/European Man Utd fans on BigSoccer?!), you must buy a region 1 DVD. Otherwise, the DVD won't play in your player. UNLESS, of course, you've found a way around that, like a region free player, or DVD hacks. (You can Google that.) I know regions/zones are a bitch, but could we steer talk back toward the CONTENT of the DVDs? :)

I"ve the bought "Official History" on DVD, "The Treble" and "Au Revior Cantona" on VHS from Soccer Learning Systems (http://www.soccervideos.com/cgi-bin/SoftCart.exe/store/7000.asp?L+scstore+pydz3731ff4a6d4a+1086556833) in Pleaston, CA.
They seem to be the exclusive dealer of official MAN U videos for the US.
I've had very pleasent experiences with them.

I didn't see "Arsenal: Classic Victories over Man Utd" on the list :D However, if I had to watch one, I'd choose the history one. Know thy enemy.

As a non Man U fan I think I could happily watch the official history.

I recently got Arsenal's official history DVD and it was fascinating, and one would imagine the same would be true of a Man U one. Clubs been around forever, plenty of success and failures over the years, could be an interesting viewing to those of you who arn't 120 and dont have first hand memories of the old days
