For any of you that interested in such things, Deloitte & Touche are getting ready to release their 2004 report on English Football Finances. Today they released a summary of their findings which makes for interesting reading...

There is an interesting chart in the pdf attachment which shows the financial highlights by club. The thing that stands out for me is just how big a gap there is in revenue between ManU (£174m) at the top and Liverpool & Arsenal next (£104m). There's also a pretty big gap between the 4/5th spot (Newcastle at £96m & Chelsea at £93m) to 6th in Tottehnam at £66m. From there on, the clubs are bunched pretty close together.
The report uses the financials from the 2002/03 season since those are the latest financial statments released, but they do make projections for the 2003/04 & beyond. The report itself is a bit pricey (last year's was £240), but if you've got the dough it is really very good. I bought one a few years back (I posed as a student and got a reduced rate) and I still refer to it today.
