On topic: Savio Nsereko is off to Fiorentina. Good move for him but I really wanted to see him succeed in the Premier League.

"Funny how last week we were all screaming for center backs and goalkeepers. Now that a world class MF/winger drops in our laps unexpectedly, all is well with the world. Of course, it did change the attitude and atmosphere in the club and they got a great result. Let's just hope it continues and that injuries don't visit us or we'll be back singing the same old blues we've been singing..."
Robben aside, our defense was TIIIIGHT this weekend. There were no bad chances given up, and everything was so organized in the back. If we played like that every week, there would be no need for a CB(especially when Micho comes back) or a LB/RB

Yes it was tight v Wolfsburg. Which group of defenders do you expect to show up in two weeks v BvB? The group that was tight this past weekend? Or the group that was wearing the red shirts the three weeks prior to that? That's the issue.....we've got Forrest Gump defenders....you never know what you're gonna get. If we could realistically expect the same results from them week in and week out, we'd obviously have no defensive worries. But please don't anyone pretend that our defensive issues have been settled because we signed Arjen Robben and had a good match.....a match in which our backs were completely up against the wall.

I don't know what game you guys were watching, but the defense didn't look to tight when Dzeko had a free header on the edge of the six yard box. It looked pretty suspect when he dribbled through 5 of our players and put a shot off the post as well. There were numerous instances in which he was completely unmarked in the box when crosses came in. Luckily for us Wolfburg's service was terrible.

There is a point to be made about an effective pressing attack taking pressure of a team's defense.
That doesn't mean we still don't have defensive problems to address. There are teams who have tactical solutions to a team that plays like the way we did against Wolfsburg.

Yes Yes. The D still looked shaky..although Holgie looked better.
I thought the biggest improvement in the defense was the result of a better performance from Tymo and from better tracking from the midfielders.
Said another way: DvB still looks like a problem.

That's correct, the main reason defense looked so good is because Tymo and Schweini crushed most attacks and we kept most posession. We had once 67-33 in terms of posession. This is exactly what Van G must have been talking about when he said the defenders don't need to be world class to be good defenders.

That's the funniest shit I've seen in awhile EQ. They "crushed most attacks?" What attacks? Wolfsburg played that match like a bunch of scared bitches.

No. He was talking about matches in which the opponents were intimidated before the freakin' opening whistle.

They played on the counter and all their counters were crushed. We'll see next game with you guys what happens there. I hope we get no injuries in international breaks (aka Robben), and we'll see vs your team what happens. If you guys get owned and make no chances either, don't be giving me the same excuse you're giving now.

OH YEAH the perfect Bavarian Arrogance. I DIG. :) Let's crush every team in this world.

Wolfsburg is depending on Misimovic and he was quite ineffective on saturday which certainly also was due to Tymo playing so well. Moreover I think some of you are overlooking that Bayern was in the first half very good organised (positioning & spacing + distribution of the ball) which also made it harder for Wolfsburg to get into the game (e.g. number of fouls).

Several declarations by Ribery and Robben make me think the deal is to keep them in Munich this year and bring them in to Madrid next, as a pair.
Of course, it's going to be expensive, but their need here and their worth there will be assessed during the season. That's why Florentino has been talking so often to Rummenigge during the last two weeks.
Seriously, is there any more someone can say to sound more stupid? What an idiot! :D
I swear guys, this whole Ribery mess this summer has done one thing that I like, go to Real Madrid forum and read some of the dumbest things I have ever read in these forums. It's like a small minority of them try to out do one another by showing which one is the bigger moron. :D

I won't "give you any excuses" should you guys crush BVB. Ask anyone when I've ever given them any f#cking excuses for BVB?!
I don't. I'm not a whiny bitch when my team loses.
You're being a right little shit here EQ.
YOU SHOULD F#CKING CRUSH BVB!!! WE SUCK AT THE MOMENT!!
Do you really believe I'm the only one who thinks Wolfsburg simply didn't show up for that match on Saturday?? You think I liked wasting the first part of my Saturday evening watching that shit??
You think I'm somehow trying to put your boys down because I stated what not just myself, but many others saw??
The part I enjoyed was "Robbery". The rest was pure shit, not because Bayern played well, which they did, but because Wolfsburg played like SCARED BITCHES!
I told the guys on the Wolfsburg list if Armin Veh takes them into the CL showing everyone the kind of "respect" (read: "fear") they showed in Munich, they won't be in the f#cking CL for long.
And you wait and see if that isn't true! I won't ask you about what "excuses" you'll give then to say I wasn't right.
Also, since when is Wolfsburg's best game the counter-attack??!! Veh did that shit because he was SCARED!
That is not to take away from the Bayern performance, but it is also EXACTLY WHAT THE F#CK HAPPENED!
I can't help that you want to tell yourself you simply dominated Wolfsburg. It wasn't that simple. You guys dominated because you were allowed to by Wolfsburg's timid offensive play.
The only Wolfsburg player who went at you guys hard before they went two goals down was Misimovic.
Yeah, I guess it isn't hard to "crush" so-called "counters" when you've only got three guys coming at you and the rest of them hanging back because they're afraid to concede.
What I can't wait to see is you guys against HSV. If Labbadia doesn't cower in fear before your reputation like Veh did, that should be one all-out, attacking battle.
Which is what most expected at the AA on Saturday, but didn't get because Veh is a f#cking coward.
Sure, you guys had a pretty f#cking good performance. But you didn't do enough to take Wolfsburg out of THEIR GAME.
Their own coward ass coach did it himself.
What "excuse" am I going to give when you guys crush BVB?? That Klopp was scared?
No. Klopp is always defensive. Who else would get a South American goal-getter and try to turn him into a f#cking d-mid??
I'll come here and congratulate you guys as I usually do when you kick our asses. I don't make f#cking excuses.
But if you weren't too busy being a stung crybaby, you would have realized how f#cking stupid your comments were.

I agree. If HSV play the same way they did against BVB and Wolfsburg we will see great attacking football with 8+ goals scored.

I just word-counted your post FF1 and with the word 'f#ck' taken out, it was like only 50 words total. :)
You are sounding more and more like Mickey Rourke every day. :p
-----------
I only caught from the 56th minute on in the match against Wolfsburg. It seemed that Bayern had a good handle on the match, but Wolfsburg was pressing for the early portion of that time. They had 3 concise chances on goal that Bayern were fortunate to escape inside of 10-15 minutes, but after that, nothing.
I cannot speak for the 1st half obviously.

..
Not sure about that part, I'm hoping but I know you have a great home record.
Anyways they played on the counter and their attack was completely nullified. That was good work from the midfield duo of stopping attacks.
But if you weren't too busy being a stung crybaby, you would have realized how f#cking stupid your comments were.
Crybaby, I'm laughing my ass of at this. What am I crying about here, I'm saying we kicked their f#cking asses. If they played their game or "another scared game", guess what? I don't give a sh#t about their gameplan, I know we owned them. If they did that, this and whatever else is a useless debate, the point is they didn't and got ran over. They went with their gameplan and failed horribly. Instead you go with the "if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle routine"... They didn't and we owned them. I don't mind teams going to attack us now because with Robbery starting, we might have the best counters in Europe. If teams attack us now, it will be even easier if we can withhold the pressure.
