get rid of the dam tournament and have everyone play copa america and have it bounce around the the two continents for hosts. Mexico, US , costa Rica or all of central america as a host they have enough stadiums.

FSW should air the Gold Cup for us. ESPN2 would be nice but we know THAT wouldn't happen.

It is CONCACAF version of the Euro cup.

Why are non-CONCACAF teams involved in it then?

*I'm totally clueless about what the Gold Cup is, and it's differences to Confederations Cup and Copa America

King, the Gold Cup is CONCACAF's biennial continental championship for national teams. Guest teams are added partly as a marketing ploy, but in CONCACAF's situation, they are invited to add more quality teams to the tournament.

The Copa America is CONMEBOL's (South America's) continental national team tournament. Copa America also invites guest teams. Last time out, Mexico and Costa Rica took part.

The Confederations Cup is a FIFA "mini world-cup" tournament for winners of continental championships including the Gold Cup, Copa America, European Championship, African Nations Cup, Asian Nations Cup, and Oceania Nations Cup.

Yeah and the winner gets a spot in Copa America

I don't believe this is true. While the Copa America invites CONCACAF teams to their tournament, I've never heard that it was specifically the Gold Cup winner. Or winner and runner up. Or anything like that.

The Gold Cup is played as frequently as CONMEBOL feels like it needs the cash infusion. Approx. every two years.

OK. So that first sentence in the previous paragraph was sarcastic. Guess I have a very strong desire to see it happen the same summer as the Euro Cup and Copa America.

Exactly, to the ConfCup, not to CopaAmerica, which is only by i-like-you-or-i-don't-like-you invitation
