Sounds ominous... he wants a smaller squad so a mass clearout can be expected and I dont think he is going to bring in loads too. He may be arrogant but he's showing the right attitude and seems to know what he's doing and what he wants.

A BIG clearout on the way.

Mourinho wants 21 outfield players only AND he has to bring his own players in yet. He has suggested that he will be bringing his backroom staff from Porto.

He says his first ambition is to win the first game of the season.

He has admitted that he is arrogant. Can't wait to see the fur fly when he meets the players :)

When talking about the Porto players, he seemed to imply that that was in the past and he was not necessarily going to bring any of them with him. However I am sure there are players that he will want to bring. He also mentioned the youth team.

A 21 man squad is interesting, we have over 30! Get the red pen out who goes and who stays?

Yes indeed.
I did wonder how he would address the public after taking over the role from a (as it later turned out) much liked manager.
First impressions and all that stuff.
In truth i had rather expected to hear the usual bollox about not guaranteed anything, time to gel, new players...etc,etc,etc.

But, Christ, what a way to start it off.
I like the man already and he hasn't even been in charge of a game yet!
Great attitude, and honestly, does anybody think that Wenger doesn't have that attitude about himself?
He may keep it somewhat to himself as far as the media is concerned, but in training and day to day affairs at the Arse he surely lets people know he is thinks himself "great".
I don't mean that in a bad way either - more like he has that air about him that also infects those around him, most noteable being the players.

I think it's brill that he's right up front and out in the open about it.

Shows the players just what to expect from him and whats expected in return, and, honestly, some of them did need a right good kick up the backside.

No more ho-hum performances from star players up 'norf in cold weather.

Can't wait for the season to start.

Should be interesting what Mourinhos sees at the future for the club. Like most of us I will anxiously wait and see what how his first move works out. Of course, he is arrogant but so are Fergie and Wenger and they have won what Ambramovich wants.
