Apparently there is a new show that will occupy WSD's former timeslot (10 AM Pacific) on Sirius. The show is supposed to start on Monday. That's all the details that I have. Anyone else heard about this? WFD has got a competition now.

Interesting, not of much value to a huge segment of the listeners if they don't have a podcast...I'll never even hear them :).

If they do, I'll gladly give whatever this might be a shot, if it is Football based and not something like "2 hours of all your talk about bowling!"

I hope the Football Show doesn't start coming on daily. I CANNOT stand those guys. It's the same thing everytime out of that guy Charlie's mouth:

"I was talking to my dear friend <insert someone in the football industry> the other day"

Please let it be two hours of Christian Miles. ;-)

Plus I don't think Charlie has ever heard of pronouns either. "Georgio, I just have to say that I think that you, Georgio, are a true legend. But Georgio, I'm sure that someone as great as Georgio Chinaglia hears stuff like that all the time. Well Georgio, should we take some calls?" ugh

Imagine the possibility of Christian Miles + Max. I fear for my Zune if such show happens (that I may end up destroying it). :p

On Wed's show the namedropper said they did talk w/ Sirius about a daily show. I suppose they're better than nothing, or better than repeats of their show, but they need to improve. A good starting point might be if Charlie can say the names of US Nat's properly (Onweyu??? C'mon).

Followed by "<unintelligible blathering>Italy<unintelligible blathering>Cosmos<unintelligible blathering>"

Charlie name drops a lot, but then again, he backs it up.

That guy is more connected than any other US soccer commentator that I'm aware of. You can't deny the caliber of names the guy draws.

He's actually one of the few Americans that really can hang with Euro footy analysis. But then again, when your competition is Balboa, Lalas, and Wynalda....yeah.

As to a daily show, they'd seriously need to revamp their formula to make it work, if they're going to fill in the slot.

It still sucks that WSD is no longer mainly b/c there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. I'm not exactly stoked about the WFD idea...

Scouse bastards.

I emailed Sirius asking if they'd consider replacing the show to see if they'd hint at anything but I only got a generic response back

I wonder if they'd consider a 3 man show. It seems like Charlie has to force Giorgio to say things sometimes and Charlie kind of gets annoying to me when he talks so much (but like you said, he is well connected and informed). When the CL was going on last year someone filled in for Charlie because he was live on site and I thought he did pretty well

I think Charlie has enough other things going on that he would need another host to cover. The level of analysis is okay, although the Serie A and Champions league coverage is good. They will have to podcast to get it off the ground.

Without commercials, Steve and Kenny should have a pretty compelling product, and their analysis and guests suit me pretty well. I think the interesting thing is that they may pioneer the advent of paid content through the internet and not as part of traditional media plumbing like satellite or cable.

I wish The Football Show was daily, I actually like listening to them; good guests, and they really do know their stuff.
