I know this has been posted elsewhere in the article threads but I thought this may be of interest to some on here who don't follow those threads.

This isn't really going to be an issue. The next overlap is going to be in the fall. If the NHL doesn't play, it's not going to be much of a gain for MLS because the sports' media is saturated with baseball, NFL and college football in the fall.

And I wish we'd just get over the mentality that sports' fandom is a zero sum gain. That in order for MLS to succeed, some other league has to fail.

(Of course if it were a zero sum gain, I'd wish it were the unwatchable NBA)

I don't like the article's headline. I think that it can cause anamosity towards soccer. The author makes it seem like MLS wants the NHL to strike so that MLS can take advantage of it's work stopage. I don't like the us vs. them message.

I agree. Death to baseball and basketball. That's the kind of attitude that we don't like when it's said about soccer.
