Hi! This is Miguel, from Spain.
It's my first message here in bigsoccer, and i hope there will be much more
I'm very interested in stadistical figures, specially MLS. Living in a country with a 80 years old league, it very interesting watching how a countrycreated and developed its own league fron zero
I was following attendances in soccerway, but there where no attendance this concachamp week
Do yo know somewhere else i can follow the figures?

Hey Miguel, welcome!
Wikipedia is a good source for CONCACAF Champions League attendances. Here is the page for the group stage, you will see the attendances listed next to the results.

Good news for attendance.
Seattle (currently averaging 30,000+ in MLS) just won the US Open Cup and will participate in the CCL next year. Seattle currently sold out 32,500 seats lower bowl(it was increased from 27,000 earlier this year). It has 5,000 on the waiting list for season tickets.
Toronto averaged 20,000+ in MLS with 15,000 on the waiting list for season tickets got 20,758 for their CCL game. So expect 'good' number for CCL game(s) next year from Seattle.
Seattle home field: Word on the street is that they might open more seats for next season. Current capacity is 32,500.

Thanks a lot!
And about Seattle and CCL, good news!
I think SSFC wants to show they're capable of play and win anyone. This enthusiasm i'm sure will lead many fans to the field. Maybe not the MLS' figures, but sure it will be amongst the top average teams.

Does anyone know the attendance at last night's San Juan Jabloteh-DC match? I watched it and from the stands across from the camera were completely empty. Does anyone know why Carribean teams with the exception of Puerto Rico don't draw as much?

San Juan only has a population of 55,000 and the nearby area only a couple hundred thousand, if that. If you want to include most of the north of Trinidad within decent travel range it's about 600k. About the size of Wichita, KS. T&T is not a very big country. Not even 1.5 million people.
Now, considering that, T&T is still one of the most populous Caribbean nations. Small crowds for the other teams should be expected.
Puerto Rico has 4 million people and San Juan has nearly a half million with 2.6 million in the metropolitan area. That's about the same size as Baltimore and bigger than Denver. And nearly a million more people that Columbus, OH metro area.

My bad. Still Bayamon has a poplutation of 225k and is within the same metropolitan area of several million that I mentioned above. Hell, they're only a dozen miles apart. It's like saying that the Red Bulls don't play in NYC. De facto it's true, but... well, you get my point. And hell, the distance is a lot closer than Jersey. Are you telling me that people that live in San Juan don't go to Islanders' games or don't think the team represents them? I apologize if I offended any people that live in Bayamon that have chips on their shoulders.

^^
lol.
Im from San Juan and i agree with city dave. Im sure it must be a pride of any one from Bayamon to have the Islanders play in their city, but i see the team as representing more than just Byamon. and i dont see that as being a big deal anyway.
good marketing on their part, cuz the islanders are actualy the Puerto Rico Islanders. so they really represent the whole island, and should be the pride of any puerto rican.

With attendance figures like these, no wonder the prize money for winning the Champions League is about $250,000.
Can a team even break-even from 2000 attendance? what with the travel and everything

Saprissa fans are not showing up to the games like we used to do, the horrible results by our team and by the CRNT are not helping the fans motivation, so i guess thats the payback

The question is, if Concacaf and the very generous Mr. Warner decided to throw more money into the pot, would the clubs try to get more people to turn out?
Also, these attendances that I've seen FSC have been dreadful. :(

You can't ask people to attend to a very boring match with a very low level.
If CONCACAF doesn't give a quality product, why should people have to bother to go to the games?
