"Former World Soccer Daily (WSD) owner Steven Cohen has announced that the former daily, Sirius radio, football call-in show will be re-branded as World Football Daily, to begin production within the next month."
Will you pay, assuming it's reasonably priced?

This is somewhat surprising, but the campaigners' statement that they aren't going to target the new show is stunningly confusing to me.

I am very excited by this news. Honestly, I would pay any reasonable sum of money to bring them back. LL WSD

I think they've proven their point and power. No need to continue - Cohen, if smart, will not touch the Hillsborough subject or Liverpool supporters in general.

I hope this is true. I already own sirius. Hopefully Stephen will stay away from the Hillsborough incident

I bet that many, many of the boycotters now realize how much it sucks to not have WSD at all. Maybe they realize that supporting a new boycott would be bad.
I don't know how much I'm willing to pay if it is a pay to listen deal. But how funny would it be if the whole thing just made Steven's life easier (no more messing with advertisers!).

This is quite surprising. I thought that the show was cancelled due to death threats sent to his relatives. Even Kenny seemed to share that sentiment too. I am sure the advertising boycott hurt the show to an extent, but to what extent it seems unclear.
Steps toward a subscription based show suggest the boycott had a greater influence in this decision (as a subscription show does not eliminate the chance of death threats). Perhaps I am wrong.
I guess what I am saying is that I have no problem if the boycotts did have a big influence on this decision but it would be nice to understand how a subscription based show alleviates whatever caused the shows abrupt end. Regardless, I would certainly pay for a subscription to this show.... its a unique show....I love the banter, the news, the laughs.......and I am dying to hear Kenny eat his words when Modric gets a hat trick against England next month ;)

Conor Brennan stated that this is now a clean slate. They'll go after him him if he brings up Hillsborough, but hopefully Cohen has learned not to. It's just not worth it.

So will I still be able to listen to the podcast at work?;)

I would like to see them try to go after him again when his 'sponsors' will be the listeners.

Great news -- I've been missing Kenny too much for a straight male.

As much as I enjoyed the show, I suspect that the guys were a little fuzzy, if not disingenuous, about the rationale for pulling the plug. It was pretty apparent that the pressure on the sponsors, and probably Sirius, was a key reason. This was most likely the reason that Steven wasn't offered a new contract at FSC as well. As has been pointed out previously in this thread, if the sole reason for ending the show, as Steven stated, was the personal abuse, I don't see how anything changes with a subscriber-based offering. That said, I would still be interested in subscribing to the sponsor-less new show if the cost is reasonable. And for God's sake Steven, leave Hillsborough alone.

Who cares about the reasoning -- the show is coming back
Let's hope!

Hopefully they are consulting with the best advisers on how to pull this off. The price will be key. The right price isn't what people are willing to pay for it now. People that miss the show are indeed willing to pay a certain price just to get the show back. But it has to be a price that keeps subscribers as well as attracting new ones. Sustainability is the goal.
Once you pay for something, your expectations go up. You could be paying only a dollar but you will still look for some ROI. The human psyche guarantees that paying subscribers will be more critical.
Another thing to consider of course is that EVERYTHING (digital media) can be downloaded for free. There's no way to prevent this. The show's biggest fans will surely pay and support the venture. But how many, and for how long? So the price must be set at a point in which it's just not worth it for the large majority of listeners to pirate the show.

Well, they got that going fast :).
Edit: Hit your search up in the proper places....I'm not going to steal any thunder without permission.
